NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

Yeah, remember all of the Antifa in disguise that stormed the capitol who were pardoned by Trump because they were brave patriots being persecuted by a weaponized DOJ under Biden?

Cognitive dissonance is just how they operate.

Really, if someone points out later that Lee called them left wing fakes, they’ll just say he never did and that’s fake news. The magic words “fake news” can fix anything. Trump taught them that.

Yeah. The goal here is not to provide any kind of rational factual argument to persuade somebody who disagrees with you that they were mistaken. The goal is to supply some kind of rhetorical fig leaf for their MAGA supporters who might otherwise be embarrassed about some of their allies’ behavior.

Somebody says to a MAGA “A group of uniformed masked overt white supremacists marched in a July 4 parade in DC waving Confederate flags and demanding to ‘Reclaim America’ for white people”, and the MAGA can shrug it off with “Eh, false flag, silly gullible libs”.

They have no interest (or competence) in rationally defending the fascist bullshit they support. Their game plan is to simply deny any of it’s happening, unless and until they can get to the point where they can unilaterally impose it. (Remember all the “pro-life” groups pooh-poohing the notion that the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade?)

Or ICE.

Trump covered part of the White House with a tarp for “standard restoration work”.

I’ll bet those columns are coming down.

A White House spokesperson told The Post
that while Trump prefers Corinthian columns in new construction, there are no plans to change the existing Ionic columns outside the White House. Rodney Mims Cook Jr., the Trump appointee who chairs the Commission of Fine Arts, said he had yet to discuss the idea directly with the president.

“It is a completely inappropriate idea and at
odds with universallv held historic preservation standards.” said Bruce Redman Becker, an architect and Biden appointee to the Commission of Fine Arts who was removed by Trump last year.

In other words, it’s a lead pipe cinch. They’re being replaced.

It’s refreshing to finally have an American president who is paying attention to the issues of the day; the type of columns on the White House, the color of the Old Executive Office Building, the appearance of the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool, etc.

Prior presidents involved themselves with trivial matters like the economy, alliances with allies, wars overseas, etc. Really unimportant stuff.

By and large, I wanted those prior presidents working on the economy, wars, etc. I want Donald Trump to spend his every waking moment playing golf. If I can’t have that, having him fucking up a few government buildings and monuments is probably the best we can hope for.

Sure, except he also tried to conduct a war with Iran, and that’s proven disastrous.

Trump isn’t doing “instead”.
Trump is doing “also”.

By the way, does anyone know what the opposite of “Rennesance Man” is?

“Master of none.”

trump. Nothing but trump.

A word that means “useless loser” in every language on Earth.

I propose “Ruinaissance Man”

I like it.

If a Renaissance man is a polymath, Trump is an amath - good at nothing.

We can’t know that. Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I think that every moment Trump spent looking at swatches for the reflecting pool is a moment he wasn’t pushing for subsidies for coal mining or trying to sell Alaska to Russia.

Trump doesn’t waste time thinking about Thing A. Some idea flashes through his brain and, to him, that makes it a fact. He is more than (in)capable of doing six things wrong at the same time, because he wastes no time factoring in such things as fact, fancy and even reality itself. You cannot hold him at bay by distracting him for more than a negligible amount of time.

Stealing it :slightly_smiling_face:

Victor Marx, the self-described “Cajun Karate” master, exorcist, and commando who claims he committed his first murder at the age of 7 and called in an airstrike on ISIS while doing missionary work, has won the GOP primary for governor of Colorado.

I prefer Ionic columns to Corinthin column because Ionic Bonding, weak as it is, is stronger than Corinthian bonding.

It’s too bad they don’t make Covalent Columns.

Plus, how strong can a leather column be?
