If you say it in Ricardo Montalbán’s voice they’ll buy it anyway.
If we’re resurrecting him for quotes, I’m gonna get him to say “From hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.“ A better fit for this administration.
J.D. Vance, announcing Qatar’s gift to Trump: “De plane, boss! De plane!”
He’s got hangers-on who all do that. So long as they don’t directly challenge him on any of his own preferred stupid stuff to do, he’s happy to let them do all their own personal stupid stuff. It’s like being a Made Man in the Mafia. So long as you kick back to the senior bosses, you can do whatever you want.
'Zactly. trump the show-oaf is like the distractor in a magic trick. All the real evil is taking place elsewhere on stage and back stage where nobody’s looking.
What a broken shit heap the Colorado GOP is to have a complete and total nutjob like Marx win the primary. With Colorado being a blue state hopefully it should stay that way.
If the Ds do get their shit together and solidly take both houses of Congress in 2028 I’m quite sure the overall R political machine’s response will be to double down in the extreme loony reactionary wacko direction.
I had a roommate in college who we used to refer to as a “Renaissance Jerk”, because he was pretty much an all-around asshole.
A Man For No Seasons
“Putrescence Man” – if renaissance is rebirth, then Donald is decay and degeneration.

I thought South Park was really onto something with their portrayal of JD as Tattoo—it was so ‘right’ I thought it would become a universal reference.
Maybe it’s because the SP season is so short. But it doesn’t appear to have grabbed the public imagination as it should have done.
I’m picturing a guy breaking a board with the edge of his hand while yelling, “Oooo-wee!”
Astronomer Fritz Zwicky used to refer to his rivals as spherical bastards
because they were bastards any way you looked at them !
From what I saw, part of that ‘standard restoration work’ is fortifying the entrance. Now Trump is also planning to add fencing:
At this rate, I expect a moat to show up in the next few months. Of course, if there was ever a world leader who would compromise his own security if someone offered him a giant gift, like a Trojan Horse a Qutari Jet, it’s Trump.
Between the entrance, the fence and the recent ‘if I die, so will you’ threats towards Iran, maybe he’s getting paranoid. And he probably should be. I’m genuinely surprised there haven’t been any assassination attempts by other countries. And not some pissed off immigrant squeezing off a few rounds before getting killed. I mean like some other country’s version of Seal Team Six showing up in the middle of the night and offing him.
I suppose Donald IS worried about other nations working up some way of sending a missile his way. (Though it would take a lot of incompetence from current US air-defense, for a missile to get to the White House.)
I wonder if he’s more worried about Americans coming for him, though. There’s a fair amount of military-grade weaponry floating around. Enough shoulder-fired weapons could make quite a dent in the White House. And with Donald’s poll numbers continuing to drop, he can’t count on securely-MAGA defenders being numerous enough to keep him safe.
Maybe I just want him to fear us. But I bet he does, at least to some extent.
Oh, that’s definitely what he’s worried about.
That’s what I think. He’s more likely to claim to be afraid of foreign terrorists, though. He’s still emotionally committed to believing that that vast majority of Americans adore him. (It’s only the Left-Wing Lunatics who don’t.)
Hey, ionic bonding isn’t weak! Ever tried to melt salt?
Corinthian bonding, on the other hand, is more suited to the leather in a Chrysler Cordoba. Cue Ricardo Montalbán.
You could make them out of diamond, or graphite.
Actually, I have. Quite a bit, in fact. I used to melt salt and grow crystals from the melt (NOT from Solution) using a vaiety of alkali halides.
I also used to heat salt crystals up to just shy of the melting point in order to purposely introduce defects into them. This was actually a very pretty process – when you did it, it looked as if you were pouring purple or blue ink into water. Then you could reverse the electrodes* and make the color appear to flow out of the crystal.
- “Reverse the Polarity”, as we’ve made fun of on this Board often enough. But sometimes it actually does work.
Wow, I’m thoroughly impressed. Not many people could answer yes to that question!
He’s probably also researched how to use facioophidian death rays to convert a person into salt.
