NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

I’m pretty sure that not all members of the military are citizens. In fact, I think enlisting can accelerate the process of getting citizenship.

It does, plus in my day we had plenty of Filipinos who had no intention of becoming US citizens enlisting to be what are now Culinary Specialists.

I stand corrected, then.

So I guess it would be a passport with, say, a state ID for the recent address. As usual, the US has use multiple bits of paper and plastic where maybe other countries use one discreet ID item. Or, like we have up until now, just freakin’ use our usual ID’s a.k.a. driver’s license or state ID’s.

Once again, the Republicans want to fuck up something that has been working just fine until now.

No. You have to answer a question/swear you’re a citizen (again, based on the states where I have voted in the past and therefore had to register). That is what the Republicans want to change and complicate.

And not even once have I been asked to “unregister”/“deregister” to vote where I’ve previously registered. This is a problem that’s not a problem unless you’re a magaflatearther.

Truly. The Freakouts of the Right office is down the hall.

Canada doesn’t have a “one discreet ID” to vote that everyone has, but the list of “bits of paper” you can use to establish your right to vote is pretty freaking long.

Take a look.

But of course, Republicans also oppose any attempt to make an actual national ID card, because mumble mumble Mark of the Beast.

Rep. Zach Nunn (R-ID) assaults a constituent trying to ask him a question.

Got a link that doesn’t give a click to Twitter?

Go to Google News and enter [Zach Nunn]. Plenty of reading there. I don’t do X/twitter either. But this isn’t hard.

I’m tired of cars being safe! Bike lanes are DEI! Next up: seatbelts! Because if the Lord didn’t want us to eat the windshield he would have given us thicker skulls! I’ve heard that Sean Duffy can’t ride a bike anyway.

From the article:

“Since nearly 80% of the population uses cars to get to work and their important medical appointments, we are taking a closer look at federal guidance to ensure American families have the infrastructure they need,” the spokesperson said. “This is a common sense approach despite the Left’s belief that everyone should ride a bike to their shoebox-sized apartment to eat crickets to achieve a phony climate agenda.”

IOW, they’re regurgitating talking points from The Onion:

“Put the lead back in gasoline! This country has gotten more stupider since they took the lead out of gasoline! And paint!”

Well, the GOP has always been very 2Nd Amendment friendly, and politics is so divisive, so why not bring a gun to work in the Senate? And the drugs are just for fun! No harm no foul!

To sum up the article:,”The government relations director for the conservative Heritage Foundation was arrested on a drug possession charge after he accidentally brought pistol ammo into the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington.”

I, too, support putting paint back in gasoline!

Good to see shameless and extreme Republican strawmanning and fear mongering is alive and well.

I, for one, stand firmly against the well known and established Democratic policy of forcing people to eat crickets.

The article didn’t mention the slew of money in his briefcase for Senators on the fence about the bogus SAVE Act. Calling him a director is just WOKE. He’s a bagman.

Winning- it’s not an option!

I’ve wondered how easily some of the congressional magats could be triggered by this.

“Put the lead back in paint!”

“TV has gotten so much worse ever since ‘they’ banned cigarette commercials!”

I’m sure there are many more…
