Not really. Their existing MO of simply shooting anyone & anything they see moving will work just as well as it ever has.
They might create a taskforce based off of Magnus, Robot Fighter.
Clean-shaven white guys in hot pants and muscle shirts punching stuff. I can’t see what the Republicans wouldn’t like about it.
The vacuum accelerated towards me! The shooting was justified.
(MAGA) Don’t try to rundown people and you won’t be killed. FAFO!
Now how are they supposed to sweep everything under the rug?
Poor Hegseth will be totally heartbroken that the new anti-robo ICE division doesn’t work for him.
Cue the end credits to The Carol Burnett Show.
I hope so. It was a genuinely-repulsive display of lies and fake outrage by a lot of men who have worked very hard to avoid dealing with the economy, Trump’s war, Epstein accountability, and everything else that matters to most Americans.
The hope, apparently, is that this sort of vicious treatment of an elderly public servant will Thrill the Base enough to get them to bother to vote (Republican) in November.
Of course Fauci’s decision to take the 5th was wise (and shame on every media outlet that was breathless over How Many Times he took it). There was every chance of this kind of exchange:
As always in Trumpland, the point is to make anyone Donald dislikes go to the expense and trouble of hiring lawyers. Donald’s DOJ might find a grand jury that would indict Fauci for saying ‘red’ instead of ‘scarlet,’ but plainly they’d have less luck finding a jury that would convict him of having lied to Congress.
But meanwhile he’d have had to go to great expense and stress and upheaval—as an object lesson to all who might, like Fauci, say anything Donald doesn’t like.
CO gubernatorial nominee Victor Marx is selling a $99 course on how to battle “gay demoms”.
If he raises enough money through book sales he can afford to go to a reprogramming scam to battle his own “gay demons”.
I forget if it was Jesus’s John or Paul who was a total sex fuckup. But if that bastard had been killed by a mule kick to the head before he met Jesus, the entire sexual history of the Abrahamic world would’ve been vastly more healthy. And fun.
Paul was such a misogynist it wasn’t funny. Of course, he also never met Jesus either.
Indeed.
I wasn’t sure if this should go in the Omnibus Religious Fucks or the Stupid Republican Ideas thread. I figured since this involves a political figure running for Tennessee governor it should land here.
The article doesn’t explain what he actually means by “banning” non-Christian religions. Burn down the mosques? Deport them? Send in ICE through neighborhoods to see if there’s a crucifix hanging on the living room wall?
He argues that the 1st Amendment doesn’t apply to state governments, since it says “Congress shall make no law…”
Although he didn’t mention Jews, I point out statements like “ban non-Christian religions” to my MAGAt Jewish friends as proof that MAGA is not their friends, MAGA just hasn’t gotten to their group… yet.
We’re all on The List. The only question is where on The List.
We’re on every list. Anybody who hates anybody, also hates Jews.
Although you have a valid point it was not the one I was really making with my closing statements.
EVERYONE is on The List. Not just Jews. Not just Blacks or Hispanics or women or gays or… Even if they got their wish and got rid of all of those they perceive as undesirables they’d fall to hating and eliminating each other because they always need a scapegoat, they always need someone to hate.
Martin Niemöller really was right.
Cue Tom Lehrer:
Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics,
And the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Moslems,
And everybody hates the Jews.
He sort of forgot that the idea the federal constitution applies to the states too has been well established constitutional law for WAG 150 years now.
More likely he never learned that in the first place.
? That seems to imply that Jews themsrlves can’t hate anybody, without being self-loathing.
I don’t buy it: I definitely know some bigoted fellow Jews who are not also antisemitic.
I knew some smartass was going to say that.
Yeas, I am excluding Jews from my statement. OK? Not because Jews are better than anyone else, but because it’s about hating the outsider, and Jews obviously aren’t outsiders to themselves.
Not so fast - there’s always sectarianism.
