JD Vance forwarded the social media post that originated with a white supremacist. That’s how the “eating cats and dog” rumor got into Trump’s head at least. It would make sense here too.
These folks are absolute awful human beings! The opposite of Christian. Laughing about tossing them out of planes. LOLOL! Fuck them. I’d like to toss Randy out of a plane with a parachute and hope it works. Actually, hope it doesn’t work.
Now every time a PA dem politician is asked about Voter ID laws, or lack thereof, I think they need to say something along the lines of “I’m not going to discuss that matter any further as long as the they aren’t willing to take it seriously. We offered it to them and they shot it down because they don’t want voter ID laws in place, they want to be able to complain about not having them. They’re manipulating you, their constituents, into voting for them on promises of fixing problems they created in the first place.”
Ted Cruz wants 10 year olds to start investing in the stock market.
Within the bill’s draft is the creation of “Money account for growth and advancement” accounts, or “MAGA accounts,” laying out a pilot program to launch the accounts with $1,000 each.
In the House bill, the item is listed as the “MAGA Accounts Contribution Pilot Program.” The plan would give parents with a qualifying child a “one-time credit of $1,000” that’d be payable into the child’s account.
“A 10-year-old can pull out an app on his phone and say, ‘Hey, look, I own $50 worth of Apple, I own $75 worth of Boeing, I own $30 of McDonald’s, I go to McDonald’s, I’m an owner of McDonald’s,’” Cruz told CNBC.
Tell me you’ve never met a 10 year old without telling me you’ve never met a 10 year old.
Which he can’t defend. All this time he’s been pretending that tariffs are win-win for the nation imposing them ‘because they are fully paid by the other countries.’
When the bull-shit artist can’t even keep his bull-shit straight…
Don’t mind me. My mind is still stuck on trying to figure out why the white South Africans had to go all the way to another continent for refuge when they already have a refuge in South Africa. Isn’t that one of the complaints the magaflatearthers have about people seeking refuge in the United States, the fact that the US isn’t bordering the country they’re seeking refuge from?
You have three words too many at the end of the sentence.
Where have you been for the last decade? All he has to do is say it. That’s the latest belief for the magaflatearthers.
I’d bet real money (if I had it) someone else told him that’s the way tariffs are supposed to work. Or, and this is more likely, someone tried to explain how tariffs really do work but they oversimplified it for him because he’s oversimple. Do you know what happens when you oversimplify something? Yep, you get it wrong.
Why should he? His current practice has been working for more than a decade.
I think he thought the exporting company paid the bill and didn’t pass it on to the next person. Furthermore, I think most of his voters haven’t felt any of those increases yet, but they will if Walmart starts raising their prices. Now he’s panicking ,so, as usual, he’s pinning it someone else. The higher prices aren’t my fault, you should be mad at Walmart, yeah, that’s the ticket. It’ll be interesting to see if Walmart bends, but I doubt they will.
Also, regarding Walmart, or any company, making ‘billions of dollars last year’ and therefore should be eating these costs…isn’t one of the big reasons for pushing back against raising the minimum wage specifically because that would mean either prices have to go up or the business/CEOs would have to eat the additional cost?
If we’re cool with telling businesses they have to pay more while keeping prices the same, then ISTM it would be considerably more worthwhile to give that money to the American workforce instead of the government. Plus, and I say this unironically, the extra income tax, as well as the extra sales tax from additional money being spent would trickle up to the government, so they’ll get more as well.
I doubt they can. Walmart’s business model is based on low margins, that they make up for in bulk. If, as is likely, the tariffs are larger than their margins, then their choices are to raise prices, stop selling products, or hemorrhage money.
I don’t know what Walmart’s profit margin is, but I suspect it is NOT 145% like some recent tariffs.
My own employer - a glorified grocery story (not Walmart) - runs on about 3-4% profit a year. Raise tariffs on what we sell above 4% and either we raise prices or we go out of business.
Currently, a lot of imported fruit is experiencing a 10% tariffs. Which is why bananas, mangoes, out-of-US-season berries, and a bunch of other stuff has suddenly jumped in price. If my employer was commanded to “eat the tariffs” and not allowed to raise prices… well, you can’t sell at a loss and stay in business.
And that’s the bottom line stupidity about all this.
