The Trump Maladministration is commencing a war on clean air:
*Opening 13.1 million acres of public land to coal mining
*Offering $625 million to keep aging coal-burning power plants open. Aah, capitalism! 
*Emergency order to keep a coal-burning power plant in Michigan operating, though neither the plant owner nor the local electric distribution utility asking for it. 
*And the gift that keeps on giving: the “Environmental Protection Agency” will repeal regulations that curb carbon dioxide, mercury and other pollutants from coal plants, and will revise a regulation limiting wastewater pollution from power plants.
Dirty air! Dirty water! Dirty land! It’s a fucking trifecta! All in furtherance of a “philosophy” that prosperity comes from clouds of choking coal dust and buildings covered in soot, which we thought we left behind in the 1950s. But that’s par for the course for the Trump “Make America 1890 again” maladministration, relitigating decades-dead issues is their thing.
That explains a conversation I had with a coworker last week. He was suggesting not only that Israel murdered Kirk (because he questioned the timeline of Israel’s response to the October attack) but that Israel has basically been in control of the US govt since who knows when. (Apparently Israeli Secret Service is so good they have blackmail material on pretty much everyone in the US govt and use that to control them.) I’m pretty sure he has told me in the past that he listened to both Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk’s podcasts.
Charlie Kirk was hugely popular in Israel because of his speeches and debates in support of the country. I’d be surprised if 5% of his Israeli fans knew about his positions on other issues, though. I only knew myself because of the SDMB.
This government? I’m sure Israel, Russia, China, North Korea and every other country up to and including that one island inhabited solely by penguins probably has blackmail material on the majority of the Republicans in all three branches.
Well, TBF, if the news reported that Marj was unexpectedly vaporized by some sort of space laser, maybe I’d start looking into that angle.
According to my coworker, it’s been this way since before Obama or Dubya. Israel has been controlling the US govt for decades through blackmail.

Just a general reminder for whoever needs it that folks like Charlie Kirk only support Israel because they think it plays a critical role in kicking off Armageddon. They don’t expect or want Israelis to live in peace and safety. They believe that once the Armageddon gets going, Jews will be forcibly converted or killed.
I have in-laws who live in Israel. I tend to bring this up a lot, because they aren’t strongly aware of it, to my frustration.
Then it suddenly stopped with 45 only to pick up again only, only to be stopped (again) by 47? Or is his presumed hero helpless in the grip of the Zionists?
