For those who followed the show, I thought I’d post a link to the band’s site, which has streaming audio of their first two album tracks with Lukas.
It’s actually quite a bit better than what it sounded like on the show. It’s not great art, but it’s radio-friendly rock. Now that I’ve heard what the album is going to sound like, I think Lukas was a good pick. It might even be a decent album, if the other tracks are any good.
It also appears that they’ve changed their name ‘Rock Star Supernova’ after a judge ruled that they couldn’t use ‘Supernova’. For some reason, I find that amusing.
In other Rock Star news, it turns out that Magni will be playing with Supernova as a second guitarist on their tour (I don’t know if he’s an official member of the band, or just ‘guest guitarist’, and he’ll also be fronting the house band, along with Storm, Toby, and Dilana.
Ryan Star has an album out today, called “Songs from the Eye of the Elephant”, whatever the hell that means, and apparently has a live album coming out shortly that he recorded with the House Band on the Supernova set between shows.
Storm has her original song ‘Ladylike’, recorded with the House Band and Dave Navarro, coming out sometime soon, and Dilana is preparing an album with Gilby Clarke and the House Band.
Toby has flown his band, Juke Kartel, over from Australia, and they’re going to go on tour in the U.S. He’s currently recording his single from the show-o-o-oh-o, I believe.
In the meantime, Dilana is in Iceland hanging with Magni. She’s going to be playing a concert there with him next week, and the House Band is going over to play a concert with him in Iceland sometime in November, I believe. Apparently, the House Band just loves Magni, and so does Jason Newstead. Newstead actually lobbied to have him in the band instead of Lukas. When that didn’t work out, apparently they went into the rehearsal studio and jammed for five hours and worked out some new music, and they may have plans to work together on their own project after the Supernova Tour.
Oh, and the House Band is going to be touring with Paul Stanley of Kiss this fall. Those boys get around.
