I ended up having to work late and missed tonight’s show. Would anyone be so kind as to give me a quick rundown? Who got the encore? Who were bottom three? Who was sent home? (Maybe best to spoiler box the final question for the west coasters, although it’s getting close to 11pm eastern?)
From last night, Dilana seems to be a clear fav as does Magni, with Lukas, I think, right behind them. Patrice, Ms. Smile-on-a-Stick, is such a poseur it’s incredible. Zayra is completely not for this band. I’m bored to tears by Storm at this point. Ryan and Toby have their moments but I don’t see either of them fronting the band. All just MHO of course!
Thanks in advance!
Supernova fessed up to not doing a damn thing, so they decided to start playing an original song with a rocker throughout the rest of the season. They picked Zayra (just joking! It was Dilana) as the first person they’d sing with. Meh.
They did a piece where Storm whinged about how she got reamed by the dudes, but after Navarro said that she was the strongest person emotionally and she could handle the tough love.
Encore was Matt (I think that’s the dude with the sleepy eyes) doing “In The Air Tonight.”
Bottom three were: Dilana (just joking! It was Zayra), Patrice, and Magni. Zayra did some nutty song but it was actually decently done. I don’t remember Patrice’s song. Magni did “Creep,” which was bad ass, and the dudes said he was so far from getting the boot that he was sent to the RockStar bench. Patrice got lashed for being in the bottom three constantly, but props for saving herself each time. Which meant only one thing…
ZAYRA GOT THE BOOT!
She gave this speech about how great it was and how she was certain she’d be sent home sooner. I called it last week: during the trip to Vegas, Tommy was going to try to get his leg over, and once that was done… she’d be gone. Which is exactly what happened.
Oh yeah - interestingly, there were dancing girls onstage when Dilana performed with SuperNoGo… Tommy obviously dug it, but I got the sense Gilby didn’t like it. When they were all “dude those chicks were hot” Gilby just looked like the class prefect, all awkward.
By the way - has anyone noticed that Gilby and Rachel Griffiths have the same hair?
The biggest thing for me tonight was that I thought the Supernova song sucked. Or rather, I think I did, because it’s already erased itself from my brain. It was totally generic, totally predictable, totally boring pap rock. No hooks, no intricate playing, the lyrics sucked…
Supernova had better pick one of the rockers who has actual songwriting talent. Because apparently they don’t.
I was watching the rockers during that song, and a couple of them had looks on their faces like, “Uh, I make better music than that.” And they do. I think Storm, Ryan, and Magni might actually be moving down a notch by hooking up with Supernova. All three of them already had happenin’ careers before this gig. I’m thinking the best thing that could happen to them is that they make it to the final four, then drop out at the last having wrenched the most exposure from the show possible. Let Dilana or Lukas join the band.
Aw, my crazy girl is gone. I came to really enjoy her performances every week, even though she was nowhere near what SuavePorn (TWOP’s anagram of Supernova) was looking for. She’s got a nice goodbye on the Rockstar site.
I thought Dilana looked pretty good with the boys, although I agree the song was meh. The hootchie girls looked like they belonged in one of the SNL rap acts I always ff thru.
Last year I went to see INXS after the show. Nothing could get me to go to a SuavePorn concert…
Thanks, all for the update. I knew about Storm and Magni’s careers, but not Ryan’s. He’s an interesting performer and seems to have true all around musical talent. Wish I could have seen the Zayra goodbye. Was Tommy Lee crying?
I tried going to the msn website, but something in the animation intro craps out my computer every time and there doesn’t seem to be a way to bypass it. Old system with too much garbage on it from my kids.
I liked Storm’s first performance, but since then - meh.
