New Wonder Woman movie coming in 2007 - Who should be cast as Wonder Woman?

Now that’s the woman I can get behind.

Joss Whedon has already demonstrated his musical chops, so I think the next Wonder Woman movie should be a musical.

I hereby nominate Wayne Brady.

It’s been done.

And you know he’d do it.

Joss has already said that he’s courting Morgan Freeman for the role.

Were it not for the fact that she likely couldn’t act her way through a wet paper napkin, I’d nominate statuesque brunette MSNBC anchorwoman Contessa Brewer.

Get serious, she looks like Margaret Hamilton’s not quite so ugly sister.

Come to think of it . . . There’s really only one artist in America qualified to make this particular casting decision: Robert Crumb!

Gentlemen (and ladies), I give you…

Julie Strain!

At least ten years too old (I believe she’s currently 44). Still sexy and hot, but she’d be much better-suited for playing Barda (Mister Miracle’s wife), or perhaps even She-Hulk if she bulked up some.

I think she’d be an obvious candidate: looks, curves, acting chops, curves, attitude, curves, presence, curves - she’d snap any emaciated TV starlet du jour like a twig. And she has curves.

Well, overall I’d agree, except she’s really short. And she’s nearly 40. She could pass for much younger, but early twenties? I dunno…

Maybe I missed it, but with all the Whedon fans here, I can’t believe that no one thought of Electro-Gwen! Alexa Davalos looks the part, knows her way around a fight scene, and is sufficiently unknown as to not be a distraction (because I agree that you can’t cast a “name” actress as WW).

good call.

Wrong!
DAMN good call – she’s 5’8" Greek and the right age. Plus, she can act. Hope she’s an option. If I were her agent I’d be on the phone to Joss day and night for a shot.

Someone not yet mentioned…

Carrie-Anne Moss

Not a slam-dunk choice, and possibly too old, but worth considering.

Wellll . . . Amazons come from Greek mythology – but in that mythology, they were not Greek, they were a different nation entirely. Greeks probably would have expected them to be be pale and blonde or redhaired, like the Thracians or Scythians, not dark-haired or olive-skinned.

Yeah… a sexy hatchet!

How about Anne Hathaway?

She’s beautiful, appears young enough, and has, uh…certain attributes… necessary for the role.

She was the only two reasons I saw Havoc.
