New York Doper Dinner: April 16

Dang. I kept not-replying to this thread because I hoped things would clear up, but clearly all hope is lost.

I can’t go. I have rehearsal. (Oedipus Rex, the Stravinsky opera, three nights at Juilliard next week.) So have fun, and somebody please drink a couple pints on my behalf.

Oh, and hey: remember how we talked about having local game nights at the NYC DopeFest? I still think that’s a great idea.

Eeek! It’s tomorrow.

Can you guys tell I’m nervous?

Um, guess it’s been a while since I’ve been here… somehow totally missed mention of this until Bria mentioned it last night! If it’s not too late to get added to the reservation, I’m in.

Grrr. This is partly circumstance and partly my own stupidity. I and the Oxyboyfriend will not be able to make it. He’s working the entire weekend - 100% design drawings for the project he’s been working on for the last two years are due a week from today, and of course there have been a series of last-minute changes. And I’m ending up having to go out of town much earlier than I thought, entirely because I didn’t coordinate schedules as I ought to have.

Please enjoy noodles for me. Take pictures. I’ll call to pretend I’m there.

DRAT.

Damn - it’s not going to happen. Too many obligations I can’t shirk. I am going to get to one of these things if it kills me…

I’m getting excited (and nervous).

With the suddenly beautiful weather, I think I might just walk from work…

Billdo, turns out the guy wasn’t really dead after all. Lot of blood though.

And now everyone’s thinking “Jeez, I’ve heard rumors that those New York City dopefests can get out of hand.”

I left you and Bill a block from the subway, and you managed to find a bloody near-corpse along the way?

Good going!

I didn’t see that one on the Scavenger Hunt list. Damn. That’s easier than finding an English-speaking cab driver.

Geez, bloody might-have-been-dead men… I just got a few more bag people on my way home.

You, quite obviously, went to the wrong subway.

Good meeting the few of you I didn’t know and seeing all of you.

Same for me, it was great meeting all of you, and I really had a blast… Been a while since I laughed so hard, so much

I had a fabulous time & I didn’t even fall on my head! Go, me!

Not that people didn’t try!

Do you USUALLY fall on your head when you go out? Is that the default setting?

Grumble grumble not knowing about thread until two days afterwards grumble grumble.

Wondered where you two were.

Well… Ask Dave. :stuck_out_tongue:

Although…we did go out for Chinese sometime in December & it ended without incident, so maybe I’m wrong about the boy.

I, too, had a wonderful time  I did get hijacked into a roundabout cab ride back to Brooklyn, though.
