New Yorkers - what's the weather like?

So, as part of my mother’s ongoing birthday celebrations (she turned 50 in February), I’m bringing her to New York next week for a holiday. My problem is - what to pack? Over here, it’s been unseasonally chilly for April, so do I need a coat or a jacket? Sweaters or shirts? Boots or sandals? Is it possible - oh sweet optimism - that it’s warmer over there?

Weather forecasts are of little use, they seem to be telling me that New York’s weather is actually schizophrenic .

Right now we’re having surprisingly spring-like weather–temps in the 40/50F at night and around 65/75F in the daytime. Rain is predicted for the weekend.

Interesting about that schizophrenic report… weather.com seems to think it’s going to be pretty consistent, in the mid-60’s all next week. The only day they are predicting rain is on Wednesday. Right now it’s gorgeous!

Today may be the nicest weather we’re going to have all year. Mid-70s high, clear skies, slight breeze. Perfect.

Mostly clear with a slight chance of MIND YA FUCKIN’ BUSINESS!!!
Just kidding, it’s nice out.

Good question! I’m going to New York in a couple of weeks myself. I know one thing: it’ll be better than Florida. It’s freakin’ HOT here already!

At this time of year, it’s really tough to tell. This week’s been gorgeous (well, in Upstate NY anyway), sunny with temperatures in the 70s F range. But this weekend it’s supposed to raind and be in the 40s F, which is miserable, especially for sight seeing. But that’s what spring is like here. It can be beautiful and warm one day and cold and miserable the next.

And whatever the weather guy says is probably wrong.

Snork!

Slight hijack: How do you ask for directions in Manhattan?"

“Excuse me - Excuse me, sir. Is this the way to Times Square, or should I just go fuck myself?”

It’s been very, very nice this week. The Web says that next week will be nice too, but there appears to be more rain coming.
