Just fuck you, Commanders. Really.
Could you elaborate on that? I missed the game.
I feel like I’ve seen this movie before, both with Rodgers, and with Favre before him. When the rest of the team isn’t as strong as it usually is (due to injuries, retirements, whatever), Rodgers tries to get it done himself – and that seems to lead to forcing the ball, and trying for low-percentage plays.
He was certainly good, but not amazingly so: he was only named to one All-Pro team, and two Pro Bowls. And, he only played for eight years.
Specialists seem to have to meet an even higher bar for the Hall than offensive or defensive players, and be clearly the best at their position for an extended period of time, which is probably why there are only three pure specialists in the Hall right now (Guy, Jan Stenerud, and Morten Andersen).
Really, they could have won, and were 10 up at the end of the third. But because (through various failures) they overspent on a C+ quarterback who’s injured, and are now playing an erratic QB/game manager who will always throw one key interception per game, the defense did its usual great job and the offense gave it away.
Admittedly, my patience has dwindled as the Snyder era has continued, so maybe I should take “almost beat a 6-1 team”….
This was a huge win for the Seahawks. They are 2 wins up on the 49ers now with a bye coming up in two weeks. Right now cheering for the Bucs.
They’ve won 4 in a row, each by double digits in points. Now up 6-3. They are one of the best teams in the NFC.
Somehow.
It’s like the Rams believed the reports of Tom Brady’s demise.
And the Bucs somehow come back and beat the Rams.
Brady now has over 100,000 yards passing. Amazing.
Next week it is Seahawks vs Bucs and 49ers vs Chargers. Two interesting games.
And Bucs, I hope you got it all out of your system with that win over the Rams.
They just mentioned that Derrick Henry is tied for the most 200 yard rushing games in NFL history without mentioning who he’s tied with. Sure enough I looked it up and he’s tied with Adrian Peterson and OJ Simpson.
Six games, in case you were wondering, as I was.
My point, which I realize that I didn’t actually make, was that they didn’t want to say OJ’s name on tv.
Whew. Chiefs fans like me are breathing easier now. That was one heckuva game by the Titans defense. Mahomes threw for 446 yards, but just one TD. Derrick Henry had 115 yards and 2 touchdowns, but there was hardly any other offense by Tennessee. Chiefs defense played well in the second half.
Justin Fields had 178 yards rushing, including a 61-yard TD, as well as three passing TDs. The Bears were down by 3 and moving the ball when the refs missed calling pass interference against the Dolphins. The Bears aren’t wining but at least they look great while losing.
Particularly after the extremely questionable PI call on the Bears’ Eddie Jackson earlier in the quarter. Come on, officials, is consistency that difficult?
It did for the Bears, also! We got a very good pass receiver from Pittsburgh, Chase Claypool, and he has helped Justin Fields and the offense already. Even though we were robbed … ahem, “lost” … yesterday, we scored 32 points.
YES!!! They didn’t “miss” it, they were too gutless to call it. The officials were like a “12th man” for the Dolphins as far as I’m concerned. ![]()
I will never root for the Bears to lose… but I’m certainly not that upset this year with each loss. Currently #8 in the draft.
Didn’t see this mentioned:
Frank Reich out as Colts coach
As a Colts fan, I’m okay with this. I thought he was in over his head from his first season.
