NFL 2024-25: Week 15

E A G L E S are tied with the Lions after Steegles win and Lions’ loss! What’s next? Who will lose another?

I’m surprised Lions downed the ball twice and didn’t use timeouts yet. Either way, they still score 42 freaking points against Bills! So, I still don’t wanna have Eagles play Detroit.

Meanwhile, Mahomes slightly down with ankle. They’re way on top now anyway, so he can sit a game.

I don’t know if I’d describe their lead as ‘way on top’. Yes, they have one loss and the Bills have three, but the Bills beat the Chiefs, so if KC loses 2 of their last 3, and Buffalo wins their last 3, then Buffalo has the #1 seed.

Chiefs play the Texans at home, then the Steelers and Broncos on the road. That’s three playoff teams. I’m not sure KC can win 2 of these games.

Bills play the Pats twice, and the Jets on the road. Chalk up three wins for Buffalo.

Seattle oughtta be penalized for the uglitude of their uni’s.

It’s a visually ugly game all around, resourcing the nuclear vomit Seattle unis.

The Bills 48-42 Lions game was a Scorigami.

I suspected that.

Not to mention the pick 6 on a backwards pass that gets credited as a fumble recovery. Indy gave that game away.

These can’t be throwback uniforms. Are they color rush? I thought the league abandoned the whole color rush thing.

Also, I just tuned in. What happened to Geno?

Got hit low (but legal apparently) and limped off into the locker room.

It’s their non-throwback alternates. Which is what the Pack is wearing tonight, too.

Seattle’s throwbacks are gorgeous. This green shit is an affront to retinas everywhere.

I like the Action Green uniforms.

Everything else was terrible, like Mike Macdonald must have angered a witch or something. FFS.

Defense plays like garbage out of nowhere for most of the game and then Geno’s leg gets busted by a guy who dived at his leg (which apparently is legal because Geno was hopping slightly while throwing) and we got to see why Sam Howell isn’t usually allowed to play in any real games.

Yeah, not to mention there was still plenty of time left in the game. That was a real forehead-slapper.

OK…maybe? This guy agrees with you:

I’m ok with it. He makes aggressive calls all the time. I don’t see the point in second guessing one such decision when their team identity is built around making such decisions constantly.

Might as well claim they have a 12-2 record despite rather than because they get aggressive with their calls.

Despite some fans now being ok with going for it more often on 4th down, they’re still conservative at heart. If the onside kick had worked, they wouldn’t be grousing about the wrong call being made. Despite what we tell ourselves, fans really judge mainly the end result, not the wisdom of the decision. And they don’t judge the ‘conventional’ wisdom because they’ve seen it so often, so any result is ‘ok’ by them.

The defense has not covered itself in glory the last couple games, so trying something different to win rather than kicking away to lose respectably is not a bad decision.

Rather than questioning how aggressive Campbell can get, I’d be far more concerned about injuries, especially this time of year when player health is going to matter far more.

I agree, ya gotta dance with the one who brung ya, and Campbell brung the Lions this far. As the article I posted points out, he’s been far more successful with his aggressive plays than not.

Still, an onside kick with 12 minutes still to go and only a 10 point deficit seemed very WTF at the time. In hindsight though, I guess I understand the logic of trying it, even if it did fail and just put the game further out of reach. I hope the Lions are able to patch up their defense in time to make a good playoff run.

Yeah, I get the appeal of making the score ‘respectable’ in a loss, but I’ve never personally liked it. That’s what gets you the Dallas Cowboys of the last quarter century.

I do hope the injuries aren’t serious, and they get the defense healthy in time or work something out. It would be a shame to have a strong regular season only to flame out in the playoffs. I’m not especially a Detroit fan, but they’ve actually been fun to watch the last couple seasons.

The Media have really picked up on this mainly talking about the Chiefs but it is nothing new.
The season the Seahawks played Mon 30th Sep, Sun 6th Oct and Thu 10th Oct but nobody said anything.
Not saying they should play 3 times in 12 days but it only appears to be an issue when it happens to certain teams.

The Lions’ injury parade continues, this time on the offensive side of the ball: RB David “Knuckles” Montgomery out indefinitely with a knee injury. :expressionless:

Look up “ball control” and you’ll see the box score for the second half of the Eagles-Steelers game. Steelers had the ball twice for a total of 5:50. Eagles ended the game with a 21-play drive starting at their own 3 yard line that ran the final 10:29 off the clock.

Let’s add in: Lions starting defensive tackle Alim McNeill suffered a torn ACL, ending his season, and starting cornerback Carlton Davis III suffered a fractured jaw in the loss, sources told Schefter. Davis will undergo surgery and be sidelined indefinitely, the sources said. The Lions also lost cornerback Khalil Dorsey to a season-ending ankle injury in Sunday’s game
