The Bears are absolutely, undeniably amenable to trading back. If there’s an offer on the table and the Bears don’t take it I’d be shocked. Looking at the players the Bears have really dug in on they all have 2nd round grades making me think they believe trading back is likely. I’d wager that the 2 second rounders would get the deal done, though having the 1st rounder who you can lock up for 5 years would be a hell of a carrot. If I’m Emery I insist on the 1st and second 2nd rounder and give back a late rounder to make it happen.
I really, really hope it isn’t Lane Johnson for the Eagles at #4. I’m hoping they can find a way to get an OT desperate team to move up for him so the Eagles can pick up some extra picks. I’m not in love with any of these players, but I wouldn’t mind loading up on a bunch of players in the middle of this draft. Maximize your chances at success.
There’s a consensus emerging that the Bills will draft a QB, either Nassib or Barkley. I’m not a praying man, but… I can’t think of a way to end this sentence. They have plenty of needs and I’m just hoping they don’t screw it up. I see Mayock doesn’t have either of those guys going in the first round. If the Bills get the guy and don’t reach, I’ll be happy with that. Although in a draft like this one I’m not sure exactly how you define a reach. If you have a guy at a position of need and he’ll probably still be there for you later but he’s about equal to a bunch of other talents, you may as well get the guy you need.
The Bills will draft Nassiib in the first round if they trade down into the 20s (like with the Vikings) or trade into the first round in the 20s. I do not think they take him with their current pick. Trading down would be the best, IMO, they can get Nassib, whom they like and also get some more picks to help fill their many needs. Taking Nassib late in the first round would not be too much of a reach in my opinion
Nah, the Cardinals are going to trade up with the Raiders and pick Johnson at #3, making OTs the first three picks.
Anyway, I’ll be at the 49ers draft bash party tonight, so I wont be too quick on the commenting. Good luck, fans!
…Are you really doing this again? Are we really doing this again?
I guess they’re sort of equivalents, but Rich Eisen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ^-E^5000 Chris Berman. Any way to full screen the NFL network coverage on their site or at least make it bigger?
Oh god a USA chant. At some point in the future I won’t be able to fucking see a movie or get a fast food order filled without hearing USA USA USA.
Ah yeah, go to the draft page and there’s a “live” tab on top, gets a bigger live stream. Wish ESPN wasn’t so annoying.
“This year we won’t spoil picks by showing players on their phones.”
FIRST PICK SHOWS A GUY PICKING UP HIS PHONE. Nice job NFL Network.
Local sports radio guys had an NFL Network analyst on today who was a Syracuse player back in the day. He was not high on Nassib. Said Syracuse only got better when they started to run more and take the ball out of his hands. Make of that what you will.
Huge mistake IMO.
Good pick by Jags, but not enough to help them.
Wonder if tackles have gone 1-2 before. I’m not sure if these tackles are really that great (how would they compare as prospects to Joe Thomas or Jake Long?), or is it just easy to take safe players with such a weak draft at the top?
Jags stuck to their board. They just spent the #2 overall on a RT.
Most folks’ll never eat a skunk,
But then again some folks’ll
Luke Joeckel, the slack-jawed tackle
Let’s see how the Raiders shit the sheets this time…
Are the Raiders actually going to make a 1st round pick? I didn’t realize they were actually allowed to do that.
And there’s a trade with Miami.
Interesting. They trade the 3rd pick to Miami.
Fuckballs. I was hoping Miami would try to trade with the Browns. They must’ve thought the Eagles might take Lane Johnson to do this instead.
Damn…
FUCK
