NFL Picks - Week 12

I’m alternately shocked and offended that youwould think such a thing. I hate the Chiefs! More than I hate the Raiders. (Yeah, it’s possible._
I was born, and will die, a Broncos fan.

That’s why I’m so upset this week. Raiders, Chargers, and Broncos are tied. The rest of the season is scary. But, at least you’re right and we don’t have to worry about the chefs fucking thigns up.

Of course I watched the game, I saw nothing wrong with the hit (although I am admittedly biased re the Bucs). You see a lot of shots like that during interception and kick returns. It just happens. And they usually make the highlight reel.

In this case the dude was seriously hurt. I watched the Bucs and Pack press conferences today on ESPN2. Clifton has a large blod clot near his pelvic girdle, and a possible separation or some other ligament injury for holding these bones together. Nobody, even Warren Sapp (I believe) wants to see some guy get seriously injured on a play. Did Sapp want to hurt him? Of course. Did he want to injury him? I sincerely doubt it.

Did Sherman overreact? Probably. Did he demonstrate poor sportsmanship? Probably. Did he fire up his team by doing so? Most likely.

In the press conference, Jon Gruden defended Warren Sapp, as expected. Mike Sherman had a pretty classy press conference, IMO, and apologized to Gruden for distracting from a big Tampa Bay win. He also said that he reacted according to his “perception of what happened at the time”. Which is of course what we all do.

I hope that Clifton isn’t permanently injured. They said he could miss the remainder of the season. I also hope that Sapp will make some gesture to Clifton to let him know that he didn’t intend to injure him (Clifton is still in a Tampa hospital). That would be a classy thing to do.

Sorry I didn’t make it to the party again folks, but Go Niners.

Pepperlandgirl, technically the Broncos have a better record than the Raiders due to the Raiders losing more division games. Still scary though.

Sapp is still out of line for shoving the two Green Bay assisstants trying to keep the situation under control after the game.

Maybe he was just mad because he had one less tackle in the game than Favre.

pepperlandgirl - Oh, that’s right…you were happy when the 12-4 #4 seed Broncos beat the 13-3 Chiefs in…er, it was the Broncos’ first Super Bowl. Sorry for the mixup…struggling to keep track of all these names, much less allegiances.

Just finished going through the play-by-play. All I’m gonna say is…man, was Vanderjagt on fire or what. And in a time when even 30 yard field goals aren’t automatic anymore.

In any event, I wouldn’t be too concerned about the Broncos’ chances…I mean, these aren’t the Bears we’re talking about here. The remaining schedule won’t be a cakewalk, but at least they’re not in a position where they have to win out (trivia question: has any team that “had to run the table” ever actually run the table?). Beating San Diego and Oakland would probably be enough to take the division. Getting the nigh-automatic win over the Cardinals (who’ll have FUBAR-ed yet another season and will probably want to tank this game for a higher draft pick) would definitely clinch it.

WOOHOO BROWNS.

That is all.

Feel free to knock off the Falcons later in the season as well. I think the Browns and the Bucs are the only ones left on their schedule that can (should be able to) beat them. Of course in the NFL the last 3-4 years you never know from week to week. At least I never know, hence some of my picks these past weeks.

Hey Shibb! Why no love for the Falcons? You a Bucs fan or something?

DAMN I hate Cleavland and not just the team either…but they deserved the win.
Did anyone see Brooks laughing after, ONCE AGAIN, turning the ball over inside the twenty? I think it was the bonehead fumble when he pulled back to throw. Is this funny? well har-de-har har you prick. You think I have floundered in a sea of moronic Niner fans and dangerous Raider fans as possibly the only known living bay area Saints fan to have you throw away a “gimme” game and then laugh about it? You suck Brooks…and your god-damn cousin too…

Phew, sorry 'bout that…I feel a bit better now…carry on.

I get to see every Michael Vick game on TV. Neener, neener, neener.

I have a good deal of respect for the Falcons. I was a Falcons fan before I was a Bucs fan, and that goes way back. Used to watch Humphries, Nobis and Zook play defense, Bartkowski at QB, even June Jones occasionally. But then I moved to the Tampa Bay area, and later that annoying c*nt Jerry Glanville was the coach. Sorry, just can’t stomach then man. So I switched allegiances about 26 years ago. After weathering as many bad years, teams and coaches as the Bucs had, after a few good years, you really appreciate the good times.

It’s going to be a heckuva a rematch in a couple of weeks

Well, no one can accuse you of being a bandwagon jumper then. I’ve been a Falcons fan for 30+ years, so I can relate to enjoying the good times when they come around. It should be one heck of a rematch in a couple of weeks.

Your team is hot, firing on all cylinders, and aside from Bucs don’t have any really tough opponents left. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we slid and Atlanta won the division.
