Congratulations on the win. The Eagles are currently as good as the Chargers. I’m sure that stat will stay the same after the Vikes give them a nice MNF-style pounding.
I’ll take mine with fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Helluva win there. I never saw it coming. I wouldn’t go calling for the division title juuust yet, though.

That game was a critical game for all sorts of reasons… I’ve been telling people that whoever wins that game will win the AFC north. I’m very confident in that now. We showed Cincy in the last game of last year that we’d have no trouble stomping them (and they had everything to play for, too…) and now we smacked the Ravens around. The steelers? Ha. Browns will be the AFC North champs.

We got ragged on in the off-season, with some prominent announcer (salsbury?) calling us the new bungles, others predicting a 4-12 season for us, etc. By mid-season, they’re all going to pretend they didn’t say any of that and try to get in on our bandwagon. No one that I’ve seen picked us at the sleeper/carolina team of the year, but it’s going to happen. Top 10 defense, an offense that occasionally gets a first down, playoffs.

SeniorBeef, Don’t get me wrong, I bleed brown and orange too (gets a lot of strange looks at the blood bank ya know). Yesterday was the best win since Timmy C lit up the Steelers last year, but man, it was just one game. I really do think this team is significantly improved over last year but we have to string together a few more wins before the pundits give us any props. If last year taught us anything it’s that the O-line is thinner Doug Dieken’s hairline and if Verba or Tucker go down we’ll be backpedaling from our predictions faster than Garcia from under center. I do have a good feeling about this year, there’s a vibe here I haven’t felt in a while. But the playoffs are a long way down the road and we have to get past Dallas on sunday.

Anyway, that was some sweet picking. If I’m not mistaken, you had the highest pick percentage in the entire 1-On-1 Pool. I know you pissed off Big Daddy with that Bills-Jags pick. Good job!

I did at the time, but Green Bay’s upset pushed me to 12-4, behind Mike W’s 13-3 week. I play him in week 5, so we’ll see if the Fighting Sporks end up in another marquee matchup soon.
