ARGH!
What’s the matter, are you afraid now that the Foreskins will lose? I guess with the return of Faulk you still aren’t interested in the wager I offered at before I knew the Marshall was back in town.
Don’t feel bad, it’s not like the 'Skins had a chance anyway.
HELL no, I’m not stupid enough to take a wager…I hope the Redskins win. I have a gut feeling they’ll find a way to fuck it up for yet ANOTHER week…
grumble
I’ve been watching the Rams for years now, I’ll give you a tip and you can pass it on to the 'Skins defense, ok?
Double-cover Warner. That’s key. We won’t have a chance.
The current o/u is 47.5, and I believe you’re right, Gazoo. It should go over that.
If anyone else wants to see the current odds, you can find them here.
I guess you should have check the weather forecast for Chicago, Gazoo. The Bucs continue their 0-18 streak in below 40F weather. Damn those were some nasty interceptions, though. Bears actually showed some life out there and were willing to play with the game plan a bit. Not a horrible game.
Games like today’s Chargers-Broncos and Packers-Buccaneers remind me why I don’t gamble. No, Gazoo, I’m not using your picks…hell, the way this season’s been going, I’d be hard-pressed to make picks of my own. Too bad about the Bears game (apparently cold weather causes freaking BLINDNESS in Tampa), and definitely hope you didn’t have any money riding on Colts-Packers (how does a veteran coach make a wrong decision about something he should have COMPLETELY MEMORIZED BEFORE THE SEASON)…ahem. Well, just imagine how aggravated I’d be if I were betting.
Question, though, and something I probably should have asked sooner. Why are you so dead-set on beating The Sporting News? Laid off or something?
Packers-Bucs?!?!?!
Burn in hell you troll!
Damn, 8-6 going into tonight’s game. Go Rams. Plus I have to get the picks ready for week 13 already since there are games Thursday and I’m off work on Wednesday.
Could there have been some more injuries this weekend?
Kudos to Fred Taylor on an amazing performance on Sunday night, and to Sledman for not starting him against me in fantasy foorball.
Because they have the best record of any of the online predicitions I’ve found.
Told you so!. told ya so!
(Doing happy dance)
BTW, anyone besides me think the Niners are being victimized by the refs lately?
Continues happy dance NINERS!..NINERS!..NINERS!.. NINERS!
See you in two weeks

crosses fingers and hopes Gazoo’s inability to pick a Redskins game correctly holds…
Falcon, I really thought the Redskins had a chance until I saw a statement by Norv Turner in Friday’s Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal. He basically said that the Redskins can’t stop the Rams’ big play ability and can only hope to limit them. That’s confidence inspiring.
stuffinb - I will not pick against your 49ers in week 13, okay?
Gazoo -
Hell, he knows he won’t have a job after this year anyway…sigh
I just hope we don’t get our asses kicked TOO badly…
That’s right,finally the respect…HEY! , that’s our bye week!
Oops. Damn, I *knew[i/i I should have checked the OP again. Lessee here…Packers had the Colts, and that was the game where Jim Mora decided to go for one when down by ten (figure it out yourself; I don’t have a clue). And the Bucs got literally frozen out against the Bears (I stand my original assertion of that roller coaster of a team…worse than the Lions this year.) Sorry, the NFC Central always gets me mixed up for some reason.
Gazoo - Ah. You do realize, though, that picking the right team against the spread is winning for real, right?
I wondered the same thing yesterday…is your won-lost % against the winner, or against the spread?
Actually, there’s nothing wrong at all with going for the one point conversion when down by 10. Then a field goal ties it. It’s the safe play. The problem was, they were down by nineteen so it makes sense to try to go for 2. (8+8+3, as opposed to 7+7+7.)
Only when there’s money on the line.
Straight up. Maybe one of these week’s I’ll take the time to include the current spread and we’ll see how I do straight up and against the spread. By the way, ESPN and the Sporting News are picking straight up as well.
Okay, I just checked Sheridan’s Line at USA Today for this past weekend, and here’s how I did (bold indicates I picked correctly against the spread):
-Eagles favored by 7, I said they’d cover, they did.
-Chiefs favored by 2 1/2, I said they’d cover, they lost.
-Vikes favored by 9 1/2, I said they’d cover, they did.
-Patriots favored by 7, I said they’d cover, they didn’t.
-Bucs favored by 7 1/2, I said they wouldn’t cover, they didn’t.
-Titans favored by 16, I said they’d cover, they didn’t.
-Giants favored by 4 1/2, I said they wouldn’t cover, they didn’t.
-Raiders favored by 3, I said they’d cover, they did.
-Colts and Packers were off line due to Favre’s uncertainty.
-Dolphins favored by 4, I said they wouldn’t cover, they lost.
-Ravens favored by 7, I said they’d cover, they did.
-49ers favored by 5 1/2, I said they’d lose, they covered.
-Steelers favored by 3 1/2, I said they’d lose, they lost.
So, my record stands at 8-4 (and one “no line”) against the spread for the games so far. Tonight’s line is the Rams by 5, I have predicted that they won’t cover.
Thank you Gaz, all is right in the world now!
