NFL - Week 1

A friend and I were discussing about the Dallas-Houston game today. This begs the question – which Texas team will be the more dominant one this season.

Hmmmmmm, too early to say, but…

Unless Dallas’ Offensive Line offers some pass protection, there will be no chance for that offense to gel in anyway. Plus, Bruce Coslet the offensive coordinator has proven to be as big a doof the old one, Jack Reilly in just one game. Benching Wiley after his big TD run? Neglecting the fake option plays even though that was their most success and Quincy’s strength? The outside and toss runs effective when done once, but then ‘lets go back to running Emmitt up the middle and getting no yards, even the OL can’t block worth a damn’… Ever heard of the phrase, “adjustments” Coslet? The same old conservative 5 yard dart crap nearly picked off by Aaron Glenn every time that nearly killed Quincy. -end rant-

The injury to one of the Boys’ best tacklers and speedy LBers, Dat Nguyen will cause even more holes in the Cowboys D’. The D proves to play great in the box, but just like in a video game that I’ve been playing, the corners are weak in the deep routes and David Carr exposed that all too often for a rookie QB despite his dangerous throws that our corners should have caught.

I think the Texans could seriously go 8-8, as long as the defense plays that reckless blitz style reminiscent of the Eagles. They do have pro bowl players on that defense. Also once, Tony Boselli is healthy, Carr will definitely have even more time in the pocket to make reads on his receivers.

If the Cowboys can’t recover from week 1, then I suggest it’s time to look up: Rex Grossman or Byron Leftwich because the QB position is definitely their weak point.
