The Bears lost on the road to the Packers. That’s something most people expected. And the Bears had every chance to win the game. If that torpedoes your season, your team is really fucking weak.
Sure. But Fuller holds onto that pick. Cobb and Adams don’t run for 60+ yards, he looks pedestrian in spite of the knee.
Pretty good week of football. It looks like the gnashing of teeth that there would be no defense allowed to be played was a bit premature. And the Bills look like strong contenders for the 0-16 race this year.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Didja see that game?
I would prefer some less-legendary games for the rest of the season, at least as regards my Packers.
#4thQAaron at it again. Unbelievable. Thank Goodness Trubisky managed to show his inexperience at the end.
Can we just put flags on QBs now? There is now almost nothing you can do to a QB that isn’t illegal. Myles Garrett got called for landing on the QB while tackling him. Um, yeah that happens sometimes when you tackle someone. I know there were other controversial calls in week one (Carlos Dunlap) and it makes it tough to enjoy the NFL.
Cowboys are really missing Dez. Sure, he wasn’t what he used to be, but I’m certain he’s still better than anyone other receivers they’ve got.
Not that I’m lamenting their failure.
A rule like that would’ve helped the Seahawks last night for sure.
You know, it is perfectly possible to tackle someone without landing on top of them intentionally. Indeed, the whole bit about how the game can’t be played with these namby-pamby tackling rules is totally blown away by simply watching how Rugby football is played.
There are, however, some problems with how the calls are being made. There was at least one roughing call in last night’s Bears - Packers game where it was difficult to see what was done that was “rough”. Gonna be some period of adjustment, no doubt.
Who would have guessed that the Jets would be undefeated this late in the season?
Got a chance to watch a good chunk of the Browns/Steelers game, and I am a lot less optimistic about the Brown’s chances. I always kinda liked Tayler, but he did not look good at all in the game. He only makes the easy passes and holds the ball way too long. Yes, he can protect the ball, but he does nothing to keep defenses from selling out to stop the run/short passing game, outside of one or two deep throws (where it appears He’s thinking “I’m throwing this one deep no matter what”. Not the kind of game to get your hopes up about him.
Eh, I’ll chalk it up to crappy weather. An evaluation of Ben Roethlisberger based on that game alone would also not be so great.
Next week should be much better for Tyrod, playing in a dome and against the Saints who forgot to have a defense. If he’s bad again it’d be a good time to start talking about when Baker might make his debut.
He didn’t look Gordon’s way much - you have to wonder if it’s because he wasn’t comfortable with the lack of chemistry building, that should get better through the season.
I was going to point out that you forgot about the Chargers home opener, but judging from the attendance at StubHub, so did whatever remains of the Chargers fanbase.
Jets with 31 points in the 3rd quarter. Anybody want to guess how many weeks till they score that many in an entire game again?
Do they play the Saints this season?
No, but they get the Bills, twice. I’m not certain the Lions are better than the Bills, but I’m pretty sure the Ravens are better than the Jets.
There are two kinds of Lions seasons:
Type A- Kick ass at the start of the season, then fall flat for the last 5 weeks and either just make or just miss the playoffs.
Type B- Get asses kicked at the start of the season, then get hot at the end to either just miss or just make the playoffs.
Looks like this is a Type B year.
You forget Type-C years, when they look like the Browns have the last two years…
Josh Allen has been named the starter. Excluding injuries, is this the quickest a starting QB has been replaced?
