It depends on your interpretation. I think they are. Aside from the drubbing at the hands of the Baltiwhore Ratbirds in game 1, they then went 3-1 and then lost four games in a row, and in each loss they had a lead. And today they beat the defending Super Bowl champs, which is no mean feat. Eli Manning didn’t even have a single TD throw.
One game at a time Bengals. This is a start. It isn’t over yet.
Also, the Bengals have a stretch of “winnable” games coming up against KC, Oakland and San Diego. The other teams they play are the Cowgirls, the Iggles (whom are imploding) and then…DUHN DUHN DUHN!
Back to back games against the Squeelers and that Ratbirds.
For someone who bristles at the term “Bungles,” you sure have a lot of funny names for other teams.
If you told me a team had a .444 winning percentage (7-9 in a 16 game season), I’d say that the team probably beats really bad teams, loses to good teams, and runs pretty close to .500 against average teams. That’s Cincy’s season. Beating the Giants today was good - but it doesn’t do much more than make up for the loss to Cleveland a couple of weeks ago.
Like I said, the Bengals have the potential to be a better team, but they haven’t put it together yet. I’d be surprised if the finish better than 8-8 this year.
Can I just say that I’m loving the fact that the Rams have now blown two chances to win their game in overtime against the 49ers because of stupid penalties (a illegal formation brought back a huge reception by Amendola and a delay of game cost them the game winning FG). Screw you Jeff Fisher.
Is it just me or has the game been more and more bogged down in the minutia of the rules? It seems like every play requires a long review and replay, followed by 20 minutes of discussion about it. I’m sure it’s always been that way, but it just seems worse since, let’s say, the Tuck Rule Game.
Not nearly as good as the chances that it was Andy Reid’s last game. Seriously, if he doesn’t get canned after today the owner really hates the fans. Reid hasn’t made a good decision in probably two years. The whole “Dream Team” and “Dynasty” thing became jokes because the Eagles actually have the talent to live up to both but are held back by the bad decisions of management.
