Minnesota getting 3 in Atlanta? I’ll take those points, the Vikings have been on fire. I know Philly’s been hot, too, but giving 4 points to Seattle, IN Seattle? Risky.
I had circled this week as a possible Browns win after the Chargers’ bad start, but I guess we can forget about that. Rivers has got them firing on all cylinders now.
Yeah, take the Vikings and the line. Also, I would say Washington has a solid chance against Dallas, Carolina is a good bet on that line, and you would probably be safe to bet on the Eagles (Seattle is a bit broken right now, and the Clink noise may not be enough to get them rolling).
By the 4th quarter watching that game was like watching a sadistic kid pull the wings off a fly. When Cousins got benched it was like Washington was begging Dallas to just kill them already.
Wow, the Packers managed to win in a game where Hundley almost ran for as many yards (66) as he threw (84)! And he didn’t eclipse 100 yards passing nor throw a TD pass. The Pack barely stays alive…
And after the Chargers started 0-4 and KC 5-0, they’re now tied at 6-6, along with the Raiders. Oakland plays KC next week, Chargers-KC is week 15, and Oakland-Chargers is week 17.
Packers won, Falcons and Panthers lost. The most realistic scenario for Green Bay to make the playoffs was to win out, and the Panthers or Falcons to lose twice, before play started today. Since both of those lost, and the Packers and Panthers play in two weeks (incidentally, the first game Rodgers can play in), Green Bay controls their own destiny. That’s crazy for a team that seems to swing between “ALL HAIL GODGERS, KING OF THE NORTH, FIRST OF HIS NAME” and “the hottest burning pile of refuse this side of the Cuyahoga River”.
Missed the edit window: EDIT: Never mind, the Packers need a bit of help - the Panthers still have to lose another game before the end of the season. They do have a home game with the Vikings and a visit to Atlanta still on the schedule.
And the Hawks end the Eagles’ streak, in decisive fashion. I did not see that coming. I had serious concerns with the loss of Sherman, Avril, and Chancellor (those last two may be permanent) but somehow they still have a strong defense. And Russell continues his MVP audition tape.
I will say though, I see how Philly got so far this season. Wentz is something else. He made a few plays that you rarely see anyone make, including a perfect bomb as he was being tackled.
Not so weird, they’ve been doing that for years. Kam and Earl are famous for knocking the ball out for touchbacks, usually by punching it out. This year so far it was a standard strip in this game, and then Earl’s Karate chop earlier this year on Gurley.
But no, it’s not weird, the defense practices that stuff. They‘re trained to go after the ball every time they can, especially at the goal line.
I think the fumble touchback rule is dumb but as long as it’s still the rule it’s smart to take advantage.
