Everyone plays this week.

Even RG3!

Man, given the Browns’ luck, and RGIII’s injury history, what are the odds that he makes it through the entire game? :frowning:

The Packers host the Seahawks, likely needing to win out the rest of their games to have even a shot at the playoffs. With yet another key defensive player (Nick Perry) injured, I just don’t see them being able to keep up with the Seahawks.

Not great. The Browns’ O-line is dead last in pass protection, having given up 45 sacks for an adjusted sack rate of 9.6% through week 13, and while the Bengals’ defense ranks in the lower third of the league, their front 7 is good and they are pretty aggressive rushing the passer. If they can’t keep RG3 from taking of running, good luck with that, I’ll be surprised if he makes it to halftime.

Jeff Fisher took his newly minted contract with the Rams, and immediately threw their GM (whose contract was also extended) under the bus. He said in an interview that the Rams “need to do a better job from a personnel standpoint. We’ve had some unfortunate things take place with some high picks in Stedman Bailey and Tre Mason and those kinds of things you don’t anticipate.”

“But we’re moving forward.”

Stay classy, Jeff! It’s never your fault.

Apparently, the team’s front office has been nicknamed “Rams Junior High.” I wonder if Rams (ex-)fans in St. Louis are thinking, “well, at least we didn’t have to deal with that!”

And Fisher had trouble anticipating that the rest of the draft picks would play like crap…

and their Free Agents…

and their undrafted rookies through the years…

but the punter does a helluva job!

FAITH! Faith is needed from the faithful! Personally, IF Green Bay holds off Seattle at home - which is a tall order, I’ll admit - they stand an excellent chance of running the table. Should they do that, and Detroit can’t win in Jerruh-world, the Packers can clinch in week 17.

I’m cautiously optimistic this will be a good game. A strong chance of snow and cold combined with a missing Earl Thomas and a porous Seattle offensive line could make this a fun one.

Or Green Bay can do Green Bay things and I get angry. That’s somewhat likely as well.

This would be an opportunity for the Browns to get in the ‘W’ column but I actually think RGIII decreases their chances. He hasn’t played since week 1. But, hopefully he’s motivated to show something.

At this point, the weather forecast suggests a couple of inches of snow overnight on Saturday in Green Bay, but it should be largely done snowing by game time. But, hey, at this point last week, they were telling us here in Chicago that we’d get a dusting of snow on Sunday morning, and we wound up with a half-foot.

I don’t get angry much at them anymore; I just shake my head and turn on something else. :frowning:

So you’re saying Packer fans need to R-E-L-A-X … relax.

That was two years ago. This year is “RUN THE TABLE”. Saint Aaron will never steer us wrong!

Packers!

Maybe I do need to watch Sports Center. What happened to Sam Shields? Is he out for the season? How bad a concussion was it? And Lacy - is he done, too? I only watch the games, and every week they are listed as out, but never OUT out.

I was surprised to find Abberderis was cut. Month and a half ago! I wanted the local boy to do good. I guess you actually have to* be *good to survive.

wunderground.com now has it snowing 3-5 inches on Sunday. I don’t like that.

The Seahawks’ offensive line won’t be the same one we saw in Tampa Bay. They did just fine against the Panthers and should do just fine against the depleted and banged up Packers’ defense. Both the offense and defense are about as healthy as they’ve been all year, minus Earl Thomas. But his understudy for three years is quite capable and healthy. I wonder if Rodgers’ mobility will be as limited as it was last game?

They had eventually put Shields on IR, but with the “designation to return”, due to the concussion. When Lacy’s ankle injury proved to be worse that originally thought, they put him on IR, as well, and switched the “designated to return” status to him, making Shields out for the year.

But, then, last week, they announced that neither of them would return this season. I believe that Lacy’s contract is up after this season, which brings into question whether they’ll resign him.

I’d hoped that he would, too, but it seems like he couldn’t catch a break, in part due to injuries. They’d put him on IR in October, then released him with an injury settlement a couple of days later.

Just nitpicky, but there’s not really a “designation to return” any more. Previously, someone had to be declared “IR (designated for return)” from the start. Now, teams can just activate someone off IR after 6 weeks to practice, and play after 8 weeks, but only once. After someone is activated off IR, all other players are stuck there for the season.

Interesting. When the Packers put Lacy on IR, they made a point of noting that the intent was to bring him back later in the year (instead of Shields, whom they had originally put on IR with the same announced intent). I suppose that it was just the team making their intentions known to the fans, then, rather than a formal designation.

Seattle got a chance to practice in the snow today. I got a kick out of watching the neighbor’s dog playing in it; it was the first time he’d ever seen snow.

In more important news, the Titans are in a three-way tie for first in their division, with Texas and Indy, and Texas and Indy are playing each other this weekend. Assuming they tie, all the Titans have to do to be in first place by themselves is win their game with Denver.

Oh wait…

Browns win their only one of the year I think.

Maybe not.

You know what sucks this year? The Browns never get the #1 pick. They always manage to win 4 or 5 games, putting them drafting a few slots below #1. So they’re never in position to take the best QB in the draft, and they end up settling for someone. For like 13 years now their biggest need has been a franchise QB and they’ve either never been in position to draft one or wasted time trying to make a third round pick happen.

So they finally get the #1 pick in a draft… and there’s no quarterback worth taking #1 overall. They’ll probably draft Garett. Then next year they’ll win 5 games, draft 8th overall, and miss out on a QB again.
