SD and Oakland are tied at 7 as I type. Forgot there was even a game today.

I completely forgot there was a game, I’m at a Chicago sports bar and only the college game is on.

Hoping the redskins can bring me a late christmas gift

Dagger!

That could be game over right there.

I can’t believe they’re going to pull this off… Go Redskins!

And there it is. HTTmotherfuckin’R!

With a week to spare! And bonus points for crushing the NYG’s hopes as well.

Why yes, Mr. Cousins, I *do *like that!

He has earned my respect after tonight

Panthers lose to the Falcons. Shocked, I tell you, I am shocked!

Does losing the goose-egg make them more dangerous?

The Panthers didn’t look very good today. It’s hard to beat a team twice in 3 weeks, and the Falcons played a good game.

Weird doings at the start of overtime in the Pats-Jets game. The Patriots won the coin toss, and the captain said (seemingly accidentally) that they wanted to kick. He tried to reverse himself, but the ref wouldn’t have it.

And now, the Jets are a few yards away from scoring a TD on their opening drive…
ETA: Jets win. Wow, that’s a fuck up, coin-toss-caller guy!

Glad the Panthers lost and shut up Cam and his stupid dancing. I assume Cam got all pouty at the end of the game.

Never seen a coach elect to receive in OT:smack:

See, that’s what happens when you don’t do enough coin toss drills.

The theory appears to be that the Patriots normally elect to kick at the start of a game and Sleater may have picked out of habit.

I don’t believe you ever pick to kick. You pick either to defer to the second half (68% of the time this is the choice) in which case your opponents likely pick to receive. Or you pick a direction to defend in which case ditto.

Does anyone know what the numbers are for how often the first team to receive wins in OT since they implemented the new OT rules? It’s not inconceivable to me that the kicking team might actually have the advantage, though I suppose probably not.

Jesus, give it a fucking rest about something at some point, would you?

A transcript of the coin toss was posted. Sounds like the ref misspoke and basically jedi mind tricked the Pats rep into kicking.

Why should I? Can and his silly dancing and superman schtick have dominated sportscenter this year. Cam was also well known for his pouting when things weren’t going his way earlier in his career.

In case you’ve forgotten, I’m an Arizona Cardinals fan. The more Panthers losses and Cardinals wins will help us. Perhaps Cam should look at a true professional, such as Larry Fitzgerald, to see how to act on the field. And yes, I did call out Anquan Boldin for his sulking and me first attitude in Arizona.
