NFL Week 17

Who did FOX piss off to lose their only interesting game to SNF?

They should have flexed one of the many AFC games with playoff implications.

Oh, and Stafford finishes with over 5000 passing yards on the season, but isn’t in the Pro Bowl because his name is neither Manning nor Romo.

If there’s a record Atlanta gave up on, it was Michael Turner owning the single game rushing record. He had 172 yards on 17 carries with 10 minutes to go in the first half, and was getting better.

Don’t think so. The locker room follows Ronde Barber, and Barber is solidly behind Morris. They are sending a message, though, which is “we’ve mailed in the last 8 games so why not this one?”

The Broncos game looks the same as always. They are losing to a mediocre team, but the defense plays well and keeps them in it while the running game carries them offensively. And Tebow looks incompetent as a passer. And now it’s the four th quarter.

I turned football off at halftime of the Bears game so I missed all the excitement. Pissed the Bears decided to win, but if we still land a top WR it’s salvageable.

Was never going to happen. This game (a) is win/in lose/out for both teams, and (b) involves home teams for the largest and fourth-largest media markets in the country. The NFL was on the phone with NBC the minute the Giants won last week.

Atlanta put back-ups in for the 3rd qtr.

Tebow has been awful but its only 7-3. I suspect another miracle is coming!

As I said earlier, I think the NFL has figured out Tebow. Now I have to root for the Chargers for 6 minutes of game time. I hope I can stick it out.

A side effect of the Broncos loss is that Cincy is in the playoffs now.

Nope. Despite God’s best efforts with a roughing the passer call, Tebow couldn’t get it done. He’s not an NFL quarterback right now. Maybe with a whole offseason to work, he might become a competent passer, but he’s not now. Right now, he’s awful.

Good for Orton, getting the win against the Broncos.

Beep…beep…beep. The Denver Broncos are backing into the playoffs. I was hoping for a Steelers @ Raiders playoff game. Oh well.

And we get to laugh at Rex Ryan again. What a fun Sunday.

Whew. wipes brow All done.

Does today set the record for the most records set in a single day in the NFL? I’m also including franchise records as well.

You were saying?

Wait, they have to go through the Wild Card? Hmmm, what happened the last time that happened?

And you get Tebow in the first round. Nice draw.

Actually, I think that Tebow will have a chance to win it at the end. Part of the requirement for being a Steelers fan is having a defibrillator. Like this week, it should have been an easy game, but as per normal it came down to the last 2 minutes. The Broncos will play Pittsburgh tough on defense and it’ll come down to the last possession.

It’s impressive when a team wins its last three games to clinch a division, but exponentially more impressive when a team loses its last three games to clinch a division.

It’s the fourth time in six seasons that the Broncos could have clinched the playoffs with a win in the last game. It is the fourth time they’ve lost.

It’s the first time of those four that their rivals have cooperated.

I don’t remember the last time I saw a Qb throw for only 60 yards while playing a full game.

We got some horrible calls for sure. On the other hand we were playing our first string in a meaningful game, and they were playing B teamers in a throwaway game. The fact that it was close enough for the refs to hose us does not bode well for our playoff hopes.
