NFL Week 17

Multiple reports are already coming in that Andy Reid has been fired. An official announcement will be made Monday.

I’ve said all along that Philly fans who wanted Reid gone so desperately will probably regret it, at least in the short term. But it’s clear Reid completely lost his ability to manage and inspire the team. Having watched Reid for so long, I hope he gets his Super Bowl, but I really doubt he’ll get it done. He makes far too many mistakes managing the game, week after week.

I’m not sure who I would want to replace Reid. Philly sure seems to have a loaded roster, so there is potential for a short turnaround and to contend as early as next season, but likely there is going to be a true rebuilding period for the first time in over a decade. After watching this team struggle, be so stupid, so soft, I can’t see how just a change in voice can fix everything. And because the roster seems so talented, the holes aren’t as glaring (aside from the secondary and specifically the safeties). So what to do? It’ll be really interesting, no matter what happens.

I’m sure losing his son right before the season greatly effected Reid.

Purple Jesus needs just 64 yards and has a whole quarter and change to get it. History in the making? The Pack can’t seem to stop him.

Strahan looks like the only one who’ll keep his record.

Jesus Mike McCarthy, you got fucking lucky.

No shit. That rule is a clusterfuck.

Will probably get looked at, should be changed.

As always, love to see Coach Ryan lose.

Green Bay and Min. has turned into an exciting game.

This is a great football night! And we still have the skins game to go!

I really, really, REALLY like having Aaron Rodgers on the Packers.

The Pack better tackle better next week.

Well damn, that’s disappointing.

Oh man, Peterson

He deserved it. Too bad he couldn’t get an overtime win.

I wish Min had called a timeout so AD could have one last shot. There were just enough yards and they had one left. But who’s to argue with a win.

This has been a helluva football day, and it ain’t over yet.

Thank you, NFL Red Zone!

Christian Ponder:

  • Leads his team to the playoffs.
  • Is banging Samantha Steele.

QED: a 2012 to remember.

Did you see AP just now when she asked him about the 9 yds? Dude I don’t think he realized he came up short until that moment. Poor guy.

I agree. The way they carried him off the field, they all seemed to think he had it.

Third greatest rushing season of all time, nothing to
be ashamed of.

The offense for the pack stepped up in the second half, to bad the defense did not. How many 3rd-and-a-lots did MN convert?

Brian

Is that seriously one of the greatest athletic performances of all time?
