Well, a better start than last year, at least.
I’d have refused that penalty too. Seahawks on the 15; good enough.
I’m nominally pulling for the Patriots here. I also think they are going to win. Brady >> Wilson and Belichick > Carroll. I do think the Seahawk’s DBs injuries are going to be a significant factor. Thomas more than Sherman who I think is largely hamming it up.
I was supposed to be at a Super Bowl party today in a killer private venue with 30 foot HD projectors and studio quality sound but that fell through. Pretty much all of Chicago is snowed in and the all the side streets are mostly inaccessible. I now have a gallon of chili cheese dip in a crock pot to myself, this should be fun. The SO is stranded in Disney World because of flight cancellations so it’s me and the cat on the couch alone with the Dope.
First bogus call of the game…Collinsworth is right, that’s definitely a roughing the kicker call and should be a Pat’s 1st down.
You’re supposed to be able to tack that on to the end of the play.
First flag of the day, obvious clear-cut call and they got it wrong. Good start refs.
And the head referee flubbed the announcement, too.
As an Arizonan I can make the nitpick that the Commentators told us that the Grand Canyon is just a couple of driving hours away… that is if you drive at 100 miles per hour.
Usually with some normal breaks and at 75 miles per hour one can make it in 3 hours.
This is like three yards and a cloud of dust, only it’s through the air. Whatever works, I guess.
And Brady’s first pass for more than five yards in the air is picked off.
interception!
Well, I was about to post on how well-executed that NE drive was, right up to the interception.
that was a classic drive, pound them out, eat the clock.
Classic drives generally end in a touchdown.
teams that have no losses usually win the super bowl. could be a new england thing.
With the injury and subsequent punt, that INT might be a net positive.
Funny that Derrell Revis has basically been a forgotten man in the run up to this game. With him a McCourty there’s no surprise that the Seahawks have negative passing yards thus far. How will they score?
Wow, Gronk should have had that one.
50% of teams with no losses have won the Super Bowl.
OMG! A pass that went longer than 4 yards!!!
snore
Poor decision by Brady notwithstanding, the New England gameplan seems to be pretty solid.
touchdown! first blood goes to new england.
