It’s DC sports though. I’m not gonna celebrate till the end, though I’ll confess to cautious optimism.
I said today the playoffs have been moments of joy separated by history based dread.
Ovi’s gonna get his cup: no doubt.
I’m happy for him.
Well, they’re certainly not holding anything back. I can’t blame them for wanting to keep their foot on the gas.
I don’t know what the hell was happening in the last few minutes. Is oshii suspended now?
Holy crap. Are we gonna win this thing?
Either that or you’ll become the latest addition to the “blew a 3-1 lead” meme club.
Oof. Grats Caps; they just continue to out-play the Knights. For sure, the Knights aren’t getting any breaks, but they are also being outplayed.
Next game is Thursday!
We OWN that meme. The Caps hold the record for the most 2-game postseason leads blown
Of course, this is the postseason that we beat the Penguins for the second time in the playoffs after eleven tries, so maybe there’re some exorcisms going on.
If I believed in karma I would say that six goals against Fleury was payback for violating an unwritten rule when he shot into the Caps goal at the end of warm ups.
Here’s another annoying stat:
The Caps have held a 3-1 lead in a best-of-seven series 12 times…and lost five of those, with a totally mind-fucking 58.3% winning percentage.
To repeat: that’s when holding a 3-1 lead in a best of seven series.
58.3% success rate. (7-5)
That is Complete Shittytown, with a side of hands over throat. (Well, considering the rest of the league has a 92.1% success rate) (269-23)
Bo - there’s still hope.
In other words, 41.7% of the time, the Caps lost three in a row when up 3-1.
If Vegas wins Game 5, both cities will go bonkers, and one of them not in a good way.

::wracking my mind to find yet another way to put it…can’t:( ::
Pleased to announce - a lot less crowd shots of a freaked-out-hands-on-head Mrs. Holtby than in previous play-off series.
Oh, we believe in this team and still think they can win 3 in a row: they just did 4 in a row against Winnipeg, so we know it’s possible.
But the truth is, the city is already immensely proud of this team, no matter the outcome. The Cup would be a cherry on top of what is already going to go down as one of the greatest team sport seasons in history, but if it goes to Washington, we’ll be no less proud of the Knights.
The last 2017/2018 season hockey game I’m gonna watch on the 135" screen starts in a little more than 3 hours! Here’s hoping that it isn’t the last game of the season, just the last one on the big screen!
Let’s go Knights!
Let’s go Caps!
If Tom Wilson had been suspended for the entire playoffs (as he should have been), would the Caps still be up 3 games to 1?
The Knights have PLENTY to be proud of. I’m seriously bummed about my Pens, but I’m thrilled for the Knights. (Especially Fleury) Although if the Knights end up losing, please, someone take a run at Wilson. Let him go up against Reaves. I want to see that soooo bad.
(At least we beat the Flyers though. THAT still feels good)
Lotta red in the stands. I can here Go caps go over the tv.
Yeah, the Knights fanbase still has a ways to go. You could hear part of the crowd shouting “Red!” and “O!” during the anthem.
But the Knights and Vegas are still growing. I liked how they shouted “Knight!” during the anthem. They have some diehard fans already.
