NHL April 2019/ Playoff Thread

The reasoning behind that call was that the Blues defenseman was the one who passed the puck back into the Blues’ zone.

Thank you. That makes sense now.

So looking back: how much of a factor was Sundqvist’s absence in the Game 3 loss?

IMHO …not much…My Team, The Blues simply melted down on ALL aspects of the game…

I say this as I chat…

Lets Go Blues

I thought the go-ahead goal was fantastic but that open net goal just now was icing on the cake!

Now that was a fucking good godddamned hockey game! Grats Blues!

Yeah, very nice game. Thankya, Blues! It’s a best of 3 now!

I’ll be surprised if this series doesn’t go 7 games.

Seven games, in overtime. Pass the nitroglycerin tablets please!

I don’t care how many games, as long as the Bruins win it!

Holy shit! Now this is a series!!! GO BLUES!!!

However, it seems they only win when I don’t watch the game. :frowning: I’m bad luck.

I couldn’t even watch the game Monday night, I knew I’d be a nervous wreck after that Saturday beat down. I DVR’d it and checked in every once in a while when there was a commercial break in whatever my wife was watching. Then, knowing how it turned out, I sat down and watched it last night.

O’Reilly’s opening goal where he came around behind the net and slipped it in behind Rask was incredible. Even after watching the replay a dozen times, I’m still not sure how he got that in there. It looked like Rask had that corner sealed by the time the puck came around. (I wonder if it went off of Rask’s skate as he was sliding over, before he got the pad down.)

We’re about to find out if Zdeno Chara can play with a broken jaw. Eh, he’s a hockey player, go suit up.

Mark Recchi did back it in 91, I believe. (In fact, I think his was wired shut)

Or wait – I think it was Paul Coffey. Yeah, it wasCoffey.

Of course, I’m not saying Chara is Paul Coffey.

Start getting ready; it’s only 9 hours until hockey!

I thought The Blues pretty well controlled the 1st period even tho they didn’t get a lot of shots off. I keep thinking “if St. Louis scores first, that’s really gonna take the wind outta the Bruins’ sails.” So far that hasn’t been the case BUT I do notice that the crowd is completely outta the game AND I think I’m starting to see some frustration in Boston that they can’t score at all.

St. Louis did good when they were short-handed, shutting Boston down completely. But their PP was super sloppy; the first minute was something they should be actively embarrassed about.

With 2 periods over, IMO St. Louis has been in control most of the game; the last :40 of the 2nd period was emblematic.
