NHL April+Playoffs.

Well, I had the Flyers beating the Pens in Round 2. And yeah, I’m pulling for the Oompa Loompa at this moment.

PEGGY! PEGGY! PEGGY!(YouTube link)
Patrick Kane scores in OT to send the Hawks to the WCF!

Chicago deserved to lose that one.
The Wild outplayed the Blackhawks on just about every level except the final score.

I was wrong on Rangers/Pittsburgh. WHEW! Lunqvist had his best playoff game, and the Rangers are not the team you need to see in a game seven.

I was rooting for Wild, but I know Ilya Bryzgalov allllll tooooo welllll…

Now I’m rooting for Kings and Habs.

I still think it will be repeat of last years finals but I’d prefer the Habs and the Ducks.

Man that hurt! Sooo many unlucky puck bounces in that one. Hats off to Crawford who won if for the Hawks.

Yeah, glad to see the Hawks win, but a rough game, and gotta be tough being a Wild fan. I stand by my initial comment after the Hawks were up 2-0 that this series could have easily gone the other way, and the Hawks are lucky to put it away in six. Minnesota’s going to be a team to watch next year. Hope the Hawks can find their next gear for the next series. I’m rooting for a Hawks-Habs Stanley Cup.

Game 7, home team down by one: As someone with no fan interest in either team that last two minutes as the Penguins tried to get the puck in the other zone so Fluery could go to the bench and the ensuing play was fantastic viewing.

Bruins fighting back. 2-1 now for Les Habs, but a good game.

Truth be told, the Wild in many ways are the better team.
The Hawks just punch above their weight.

I think the Hawks are the more talented team, but they just haven’t been clicking in this series. Maybe the Wild just figured them out. Their defense seemed to have the Hawks stymied.

Anyway, congrats to the Habs! I don’t think I can be too disappointed now with however the Stanley Cup ends. All the teams I dislike are out. I’d prefer the Kings in the Kings-Anaheim matchup (plus we get home ice that way), but I don’t really care much either way.

I can’t believe the Habs did it. But, yup, congratulations.

I agree the Hawks are more talented but I still think the Wild are a better team (if that makes sense at all).

I think of it like the Bulls with the MJ era. The Pacers and Knicks were better teams in some of those years but a truly talented player like MJ can lead to the championship.

The Hawks are blessed with talent and when it’s working it truly beautiful. Unfortunately looking at the penalty kill and power play performance it’s not clicking nearly as well as one would hope.

The Hawks penalty kill has been great in the post-season. In fact, I believe it’s the best in the post-season. Their power play performance, though, has been pretty middle-of-the-road. Not great, not awful, but I’d expect a little better from there in that camp.

It seems to me you have to like the Habs over the Rangers, but I see no matchup that would be good for them come the Finals.

But then I didn’t expect them to beat Boston, so who the hell knows.

The Kings apparently are not big golfers.

*Very *disappointed in the Bruins’ play this series, and in the disgraceful conduct of more than one of them during it. Being the better team means more than having the better talent, it means rising to the occasion in the playoffs. Let’s see how much this eats at each of them this summer, and who might have to go elsewhere instead. Marchand, Krejci, Thornton, Lucic, I’m looking at you - especially Marchand.

That hurt. Word is Bylsma’s been fired and it’s going to be announced tomorrow. I’m not surprised. I like the guy, but he’s obviously just not working out here. As for Fleury, that’s still up in the air.

sigh This sucks. :frowning:
I’m not surprised at the Bruins – they’re generally a bunch of assholes, for the most part. Lucic and Thornton in particular. Fuck them.

Especially Lucic. Did you see the handshakes? Lucic is basically telling Habs players to fuck themselves. What an ass.

Yep, exactly. Stay classy, Bruins. After Thornton’s attack on Orpik, as far as I’m concerned, they lost any right they have to complain about Matt Cooke. The only difference between Orpik and Savard is that Savard was permanently injured and Orpik wasn’t. I’m not defending Cooke, but the Bruins are nothing but hypocrites.
