NHL April+Playoffs.

I take back what I said about getting swept in the first round. I gotta say, though - I don’t know how many more of these “wait til the last few seconds to tie the game” games my heart can take!

So, grabbing your own sack is worth 25k, but crushing someone else’s with a weapon is only 5K? Still a bunch of Damn idiots in the league office.

Agreed. I’m a huge Blackhawks fan and in my opinion Seabrook should have the fucking book thrown at him for going at Backes head against the boards.

Physical play is fine but potentially career ending dirty hits should get your ass jammed up good.

My opinion of Seabrook just took a nosedive.

WHOOOO HOOOO!! Flyers finally break the losing at MSG streak! And Ray Emery actually moved like a person!

I agree with this. Worst is I think he cost the Hawks the game and possibly the series.

Well, looks like they are throwing the book at him.

So apparently Jonathan Quick has been kidnapped by aliens and replaced by some sort of automaton.

Not that I’m complaining…but I would have been happy with the Sharks managing 12 goals against him in the whole series, never mind 2 games…

Holy crap, yes. Living out west in L.A., watching this was mind boggling. The Sharks are a great team, who’ve beaten Kings a lot this year. But today, Kings come out with a two-goal lead and just died.

Two of those goals were entirely Johnathan Quick. And why Darryl didn’t sit him and at least give his backup more ice time is weird. Kings can turn this around next game, no problem. But their defense was beyond awful. Can’t be anymore 3 on none or two on none.

Welcome back Matt Cooke. I didn’t think that a leopard could change its spots.

What an asshole. I still say his step on Erik Karlsson’s achilles was intentional.

Well, Sharks-Kings game 3 promises to be another brutal affair, with Joe Thornton getting called for high-sticking about 4 seconds in…

And the Habs sweep the Bosts, wait for the winner of the Wings/Bruins series.

Well it’s looking like Boston with the way things are going :frowning:

I’m assuming everyone’s seen this by now, but just in case, I’m going to post the link anyways.

Because this kid knows where it’s at.

Of course it was. All the talk about how “oh, he’s changing his ways” was utter claptrap. Cooke is the dirtiest player in the league and should be thrown out of the NHL.

After being pissed off about the spearing and kneeing, I forgot to mention Stephane Robidas. I feel so bad for the guy. He misses most of the season after breaking his leg and then breaks it again in almost the same place. I assume that it is probably the end of his career, but he might give it one more shot. Stars fans did appreciate his tough as nails, hard working play.

My apologies to the Blue Jackets.

How does a team that loses all 5 games to Pittsburgh in the regular season (and can’t seem to beat any elite team) manage to be dead even in the series after 4 games?

Memo to both teams: do NOT get a big early lead. You will regret it (in every game one team has led at least 3-1, and in every game that team has lost by a final score of 4-3).

Totally nuts.

I was expecting a tough series between the Hawks and Blues, but this has gotten my blood pressure up way too much. If only hockey periods lasted, oh, 19:50, I’d be a much more calm person. At least Chicago ended up on the winning side of this one. Honestly, I’m not expecting a Stanley Cup run this time around, like I did last year and 2010, but this first round has been incredibly entertaining. I’m keeping an eye out on that Blue Jackets - Penguins series. Columbus is one of my pet teams. And I also find myself on the rare side of rooting for the Red Wings.

As a [del]Fatalist[/del] Blues fan, I’m starting to feel like, well, like I’ve felt every year since I first became a fan, in NINTEEN SEVENTY NINE. When I was 9. Tighten the fuck up Blues! Don’t make me sic Dan Kelly on you.

You can’t spell “Abysmal” without “Bylsma.”
