Never mind - restarting the game and playing through again fixed it for whatever reason. Woo!
To help feed addictions to escape games, here’s a couple in a 2-d cartoon style:
You have to get a stick man to safety by clicking objects and arranging them into Rube Goldberg-esque sequences.
I need a nudge:
I’ve gotten outside. I have the gem from the flytrap. The sequence it shows is windmill, hexagon, gear, lever, windmill. This corresponds to roman numerals IV, VI, II, V, IV. I gather from the sketchbook that I’m supposed to hit those buttons on the door at the top of the ladder, but I can’t get it to work. Any suggestions? Particularly with the fact that there are two IV’s?
I don’t remember those being the same numbers I had, but the game may have a way of randomly seeding clues at the beginning so that everyone comes out with different clues. Assuming that you have the numbers are correctly, though: Does the order in which you are pressing the numbers correspond with where you suppose the numbers fall on the pad, or could there be another order that the pad follows from I to IX?
I’m assuming that the numbers go from I to IX in a clockwise spiral as diagrammed in the sketchbook. I’m pushing the buttons in the order windmill, hexagon (which I’m assuming is 6?), gear, lever, windmill. Obviously this means that the windmill button is ‘unpushed’ in the last step. Any other hints?
Your first assumption is correct…
Sorry for the delay, I just ran through the game again to see if I had forgotten something. It did yield different numbers for me this time, and I think I got the sequence that you have. You have the concept correct, but the incorrect number for the hexagon. While you’re at the top of the ladder, take time to admire the view…
:smack:
Ah, the windmill has to be moving to see the number up there
Thanks!
Hey, man. First taste is always free. But you stick with me, I’ll treat you right.
Here are two that I haven’t got far into at all. Yet. I spent rather a lot of office time this week on the three games above that extended beyond my lunch break (so I’m here in the office today), and I didn’t want to push it too far. But these seem to be pretty good at first blush. They’re by the same company, and seem to take place in the same room. I believe that you should start with Strawberry Tomato before moving on to Bon Voyage. And if someone has the chance to try them out, maybe you can let me know if I’m doing something wrong. I’ve been able to pick up items to put them into my inventory, and I can examine them. But I can’t seem to actually use them once I’ve found them. I haven’t got far enough into it to know if it just requires the right place to use them, or whether I’ve got some sort of problem with Flash.
Good luck.
Woohoo! Finished!!
I’ve started Strawberry Tomato, and have been able to combine two items. Double-click one item to examine it, then click the other item so it’s highlighted, then click the one you’re examining. Haven’t been able to do anything else with the items yet, though. I’m already stuck.
Where is the champagne bottle?
Locked up. Try solving another puzzle or two first. I seem to recall something about a scrap of paper and the word written on it…
The only scrap of paper I’ve found thus far was the one showing me how to position the doll’s limbs. I currently have the glass, the corkscrew, the doll minus head, the bronze box, three numbers with associated shapes, the handle of a screwdriver, a crank, and a grey thing with pushable pegs. Hint?
Have you looked all over the plant shelf? Those lights are awfully bright. Perhaps you’d see better if you turned them off.
(also, I apologize if I give bad hints. I’m either too vague, or too obvious. If you prefer one over the other, let me know)
Me too, for now.
I think that I’m supposed to put the photos in order from left to right, and then use the numbers behind the photos on the keypad on the picture frame. Except that I think I have, and it doesn’t work.
Oh well, so much for getting anything done today…
Making progress now, thanks.
I’m hoping there’ll be some other clue to tell me how to arrange those. But I did finally get to use some items with the environment. Make sure the item you want is highlighted, and click the area where it’s to be used. Finding those areas proves tricky, however… I’m stuck again, after using 4 of the 6 items I found.
Yeah, I managed to find all five pictures, plug in the fan, and put the stick in the hole in front of the window. I have a t-shirt, dessert, and a potted plant left, none of which I’ve been able to use. I have also been able to find the right order for the combination to the painting, and have not yet been able to find something to keep the lock open in the safe behind the pot.
Hrm.
I’m going to have to say that I’m finding this game to be very frustrating. This sort of game should “play fair”. That is to say, if there is a reason that an action can’t be performed, there should be a reasonable deterrent rather than just not letting you do it. If there is an object that you shouldn’t get until a certain point, there should be a reason that you can’t get it, rather than the game pretending that you just couldn’t see it. “Vision” did a great job of this by locking things away and forcing you to solve puzzles in order. This one is a bit arbitrary. I’m getting along okay, but I can’t say that I am thrilled with this game.
