Nip/Tuck 10/18

Wow, bitch got her’s didn’t she?

Good episode, I was beginning to wonder how far they were going to go with the whole Christian in jail thing. I’m sorta glad they moved on, and I like the way Christian took care of business.

One thing that sort of annoyed me is the fact that no one seemed to propose the idea that it was that Carver himself who tried to frame Christian, granted based on the way Christian got out of it that might have seemed a little outlandish. What do you think? Do we take for granted that Kit was the one who planted the condom or what?

I thinkChristian was taking for granted that Kit was the one who planted it, just as Kit was taking for granted that suddenly (if Christian was the Carver) he had screwed up and implicated himself. But the condom is further evidence of my theory that

Kimber (in an alternate universe possibly Julia, but most likely Kimber)

is the Carver.

I thought it was interesting that Sean himself pointed out that he’d been a victim of the Carver, but he didn’t take it a step further and realize that the physical build is all wrong to be Christian. I know they needed the tension between the two, but come on- Christian’s a big guy, and they’ve been pretty consistent about portraying the Carver as a smaller person (go back and look at the scene where the C. appears behind Sean prior to the attack- they’re almost the same build.

I’m still ready for this particular story line to be done… I can’t imagine them dragging it out for the entire season.

I read an interview with one of the writers for Nip/Tuck about a month ago in which he said that the Carver story line was going to run for the entire season. He said that he had received a lot of good feedback on this story line so he was going to run with it for a while.

I am rather tired of this story myself. I liked the first season and a half where the show focused more on the plastic surgery aspect of things rather than this carver story.

In regards to last night’s show, both my wife and I thought that

Christian’s mother wasn’t actually his mother, but rather just some woman that Kit brought in to try to guilt Christian into confessing. I have a hard time believing that a woman would accuse her son of rape and murder after meeting him for the first time in 40 years. Plus, the story about Christian’s real father being a serial rapist was just a little too convenient for the situation.

I thought that as well… it was too tidy.

I agree.

I have a friend who thinks that the carver is the new doctor

but i think it is just some wacko.

I love that the detective was the next victim - she deserved it (IMHO). I also wondered about the Carver being the one to set Christian up, but that obviously wasn’t the case since he was lured out.

I really wonder now who it was… I don’t think it’s the new doc (he came from Georgia, right? Anyway, some other state - he wasn’t around when the carvings started).

What do you guys think is up with the AIDS patient? I wonder if a lawsuit will spin out of this - some guy has unprotected sex with AIDS Dude, gets infected, and sues the docs for helping cover up the disease.

I was a little surprised that the guys didn’t challenge him directly on that. In the past thay’ve pushed back on some of the stranger patients pretty hard and they just sorta shruged an accepted this. Sean voiced some concern, but never really heistated to do the work. I don’t know if that makes it more or less likely to come back to haunt them.

Personally I wish they’d have more sexy patients again, it seems like it’s been forever since they had some stripper in there getting obnoxious boobs! I mean these other types of patients are interesting and provide good depth, but for the sake of reality they need to trot in a few of South Beach’s finest once in a while for credibility.

I agree with your friend, and have thought so for some time now.

But I’m getting tired of this carver thing, too.

Also, is this the first time Christian has mentioned being molested by his foster parents? I seem to recall him saying he didn’t have a rosy childhood, but I don’t remember anything about sexual abuse.

I believe he mentioned it during the episode with the priest who was trying to get away with molesting some kids. Don’t remember whether he mentioned the foster parents specifically, but he did mention he was abused.

In the first season when it was established that the Spanish gangmember had “been with the boss’s [little] girl”, they showed Christian’s flashbacks to being called over by a male figure, and him reluctantly going over with fear in his face.

Ah okay, I must have missed that episode

And thanks BigDummy, too
