Nip/Tuck 11/29 with spoilers

bobkitty, you were right.

Good episode. Looks like next week they’re doing the ER trick, but that’s okay, because this week was almost too intense.

Male-sounding voice behind the Carver mask. I think Quentin’s been too busy to be the Carver, but it’ll be weird if he turns out to be a new character.

You don’t think they’ll resolve the story line by having him be a total stranger, do you? Would they do that?

Given that I think it had that weird abrupt clang edit at the end, is it possible that whole thing was being played out inside Christian’s head? That he’d kind of rather think that she’d been taken from him rather than that he gave her an ultimatum and she chose her career over him? It wouldn’t be the first time they did something like that this season.
I mean, I missed the first couple of minutes and the previews for next week, so I may have missed something, but that’s how I was reading it. Just asking, I could certainly be wrong.

I’m going with Christian’s ex. as the Carver. I can’t remember her name, but she was in the room with Kimber before the wedding. She definitely has the potential to pull it off.

That episode was pretty damn intense! It’s about time-- this season has been very mediocre so far. Why doesn’t Christian call Matt’s chick a White Supremacist instead of a “racist”? Racist just doesn’t have much zing to it, and it’s an overused term these days. But White Supremacist… now that’s something!

I’m still going with Quentin as The Carver. And how stupid is Julie not to be suspicious of that guy??? Jeez!!

I didn’t see season one, but I am really liking this one. What a juicy show. Has anyone been keeping track of how many of their procedures cause more good then bad? So far there was a kid with down’s syndrome who was happy to look more like his dad and … is that it? It seems every surgery they perform ends with the patient more miserable then before.

Excuse me while I bask in this… I hear it so very rarely.

IIRC, there have been several interviews with the writers of the show who have insisted that the Carver is not an unknown entity. Whether it’s a well-known character or a one-off still remains to be seen, but it’s not going to be someone completely out of left field. If they go back on that, I’ll be quite put out.

Okay, so call me stubborn, but I’m not letting go of my pet theory yet. The way Kimber interacted with the Carver, including asking “Why are you making me do this?” instead of “Please let me go” “You have what you want” etc, makes me more open to the speculation that

Kimber’s been working with someone else on the Carver slashings.

But let’s look at the list, and see who they’ve eliminated as the Carver:

  • Julia and Gina- both in the church when Sean came in to break the news to Christian.
  • Christian, who was jailed and let go.
  • The detective, who was a victim (off-camera).
  • Sean, who was a victim (on-camera).
  • Ava, who was at the airport when Sean was attacked.
  • Ava’s son, for obvious reasons.
  • Quentin, who was out of the country when the attacks started (he was purposely brought in to fix Sean).
  • Bobolick (or however you spell it), who was too drugged up to accomplish the majority of the attacks.

That leaves

Matt, who I don’t think has the medical knowledge (and, as someone pointed out last week, it would mean that he raped Christian- eww), and… :: gasp :: Liz.

I wish they would kill off Matt. Every week my hatred for him increases exponentially.

He’s not even remotely redeemable. I can’t think of a single thing he could do to give him status as a human being. What a dick, and that skanky little girlfriend of his – ugh.

As for the Carver’s identity, it just seems like all the major characters (including Gina) have been too busy with other stuff to be good candidates.

Maybe it’ll be the husband of a patient that was made beautiful and then left him. What’s his line? Beauty is the curse of the world?

A friend of mine has a good idea on who could be the Carver

Christian’s dad
