I just had one, and although the reply was nice the quoting of my entire post in the only reply that had been posted is redundant.
Okay, quote parts, quote a snippit but not the entire post people, sheesh.
If you must, just say “regarding the OP” or “regarding the original post” which is acceptable when things have gone off topic or you want to clarify your response. But PLEASE don’t quote the entire OP especially when you are the first to respond to the post at hand. We already know what you are replying to.
This has been a feature with the vB that has bugged me for ages. Get rid of it SD…tell those techs it’s bullshit, redundant. If a poster (no offense to anyone) can’t reply in a cohesive manner without learning the vB codes they need simply to request people to look at the OP to begin with.
Actually, I kind of agree. Unless you are picking just a part to comment on. With that said I am ofter guilty. It is just easier to write a response when the OP is readible just above. In the future I will use the DELETE button more often.

Regarding the OP…yes, I agree totally. Learning to quote properly, and selecting specific sentences is not hard to do. The thing that drives me absolutely NUTS is when someone quotes an entire, lengthy post, and then just replies with “Yes! I agree!” I want to SCREAM.
I did this nicely in MPSIMS sometime ago and I didn’t expect the fucking comedic part to come over here like it did over here. I didn’t search for the thread but if my mind recalls correctly it was entitled “Strange trends” or something to that degree.
Look I think it’s fucking lame and cool dude, even though I appreciate your reply to my GQ (something I rarely post is a GQ post as a topic) I still find the complete process of quoting the entire fucking post before giving your reasons as stupid.

Excellent point. I always use the person’s name if I’m replying to something he/she wrote. That way anyone curious enough can scroll up to that person’s post.
Now if we can just get rid of the 35 line signature lines, we’d be in business!
Seriously. If someone like me can edit a quoted post for clarity while piss drunk, a sober person can too. DO NOT quote the entire post! Worse is when people quote quotes of quoted quotes. STOP THAT SHIT!

Oh Hamadryad, I don’t know what you have against me but that was pretty low in my eyes. I never claimed to be perfect, I never even claimed to be less than who I am.
