No-tell Motel of Sidekicks Unspoiled Heroes Mafia Thread (Players Stay Out!)

I see what Pleonast is saying, but when I read the exchange I interpreted Suburban Plankton as meaning the number of female players might double.

But Pleonast’s interpretation is possible too. Is Scuba_Ben notoriously a bizarre pronoun proponent? I’ve seen the odd pronouns pop up before, but I’ve never attributed them to a particular player.

SP and Scuba had a conversation about “e” “eir” etc earlier in the game thread, I think before the game formally started. (Which means there’s an innocent as well as a not-so-innocent explanation - Ben was the only person to publically declare as a sub candidate in the thread, I believe.)

Well that’s an out too. It’s certainly plausible that Suburban was drawing on the fact that Scuba_Ben was known to be a possible substitute.

It’s a fine theory, but with enough holes for me to ignore. Actually, I find it LESS likely that scummy Suburban Plankton learned about Scuba_Ben on a private board then ‘slipped’ in the main thread.

I also question the timing. For Pleonast’s theory to be correct Mahaloth would have had to have told the scum board that Scuba_Ben was replacing Ed, then waited over 90 minutes before informing the main board the same thing. Why the delay? I see no reason for such a delay, and therefore don’t believe it happened. For what reason would Mahaloth have delayed posting this information. It isn’t hard. There isn’t any color to write. His announcement is terse and to the point.

I concur with sach, but it’s such an attractive theory (all potential scum “slips” are attractive), I’m not surprised people jumped on it. The problem is that slips that are not real are attractive to both Town and Scum, and often get a townie lynched.

Oredigger would have my vote today. “ehh that looks like a lead… okay maybe not… oh i guess I’ll vote for Pleo for a formulaic reason…”

Is **peeker’**s earlier post along the lines of “Scum: it sucks to be us” just **peeker **being peeker? I’m guessing that’s the case, but I’m kind of surprised no one’s at least asked about it. But maybe people are getting tired of lynching **peeker **on the first day.

Myself, I was kind of surprised that people fingered Plankton. When he posted as he did, I knew exactly what he was talking about - I remembered **Ben **asking to be on the sub list, and I read through International Mafia and so was familiar with Ben’s inexplicable use of weird pronouns. Honestly, I get why he uses them (I guess), but it’s really distracting. I’d rather someone screw up my gender instead of using those.

Pretty wide spread of votes toDay. We have 18 players and 10 have votes on them.

Makes for a fun game to watch(and moderate, honestly).

I absolutely think that storyteller’s case against Oredigger is well-reasoned. Unfortunately, it relies heavily on the notion that inconsistency means scum. I find that Town are wildly inconsistent in their positions and behavior. It drives me nuts.
The opportunistic charge carries more weight, but labeling something opportunistic is rather easy, especially on Day One when everything is ‘opportunistic’ because we don’t know anything about anyone. But as cases go, this one is the most ‘solid.’ Unfortunately, I think scum are smart enough at this point NOT to do anything that establishes a strong case against them.

If I were in the game, I’d take storyteller’s case quite well and probably vote for Oredigger if he were in a lynchable position, but I still have a niggling feeling that he’s just a wishy-washy Townie.

Frankly, at this point I’m most suspicious of players who are playing under the radar. Even Meeko and peekercpa fall into this category as neither have done anything to draw intense scrutiny upon themselves, which is unusual.

BTW… “sushi” referring to peeker as “peckerhead” is just comedy gold.

Close vote coming to the end of the Day.

Hmmm.
Tied Vote. And neither tied player is voting for the other.
ushi did express the desire to vote to save himself, but we’ve never done anything like that before. But presumably he is in an Asian timezone which prevents his participating at Dusk.
If I were ushi I would move the vote to Oredigger.

I expect Oredigger to vote for ushi, which would maintain a tie… I wonder what the tiebreaker is.

Can I proxy vote for ushi?

It’s in the rules. First one to get to the tied number dies. Right now, that would be Ushi.

Actually no. ushi isn’t here to move his vote. ushi is ahead but could push a tie with his own vote.

Interesting end-of-day.

Yes. And I think both are Town.

Well look at that. Oredigger got lynched. I can see why too. The case presented was the most ‘solid.’ We like to lynch based on something reasonable. Unfortunately, I think the case against scum isn’t ‘solid’ because scum are actively trying to avoid doing things that could create a ‘solid case’ while Town have no such reservations.

We shall see soon enough.

Well so much for that. I really had no read on anyone and I think I might have survived if I hadn’t gone for the self preservation vote.

I never got to drink in the game do we at least have beer and peanuts for the watching party?

Just popping in to say congratulations to Meeko for his play toDay. Yeah, there were a few things that didn’t make sense, but he came off more like peeker. I think the secret is that he’s posting a little less often.
