Perhaps not so strangely, I love to sing in real life. Never thought I’d ever be doing it online. But as long as what I can do online makes people happy, I’m happy to do it. A good night to those who are retiring now, and we’ll see you tomorrow.

Just popped in. Pretty slow night around here. I’m getting ready to watch some documentaries at Curiosity Stream. I signed up a couple months ago and haven’t really taken as much advantage of it as I should. I’ve got several good things in my to-watch queue.
I’m also keeping an eye on Hurricane Sally. I have friends in Mobile and it’s headed straight towards them. But it’s just crawling and dumping tons of rain. Probably won’t make landfall until morning. They are well prepared - it’s not their first rodeo - and I hope we will hear from them later today.

So, draggin hind end right now. Temps today were on the warmer side of shirt sleeve Farenheit. Went to bed and sleep last night ummmm, not sure, between 2430 and 0230, slept fitfully, got up at 0515 so I could be at work and driving across the state at 0630. The air quality index seems to be uniformly in the eye-burns, wet-coughs category for the past several days. Just got home a bit ago. Tummy says its food o’clock, but I just can’t be arsed to get something at the mo’.
Beck, what everyone else already said about gettin better an healed an stuff n things and whatnot.
I’d do a Vader wheeze to emphasize this, but it would probably instantly degenerate into a fit of hacking coughs from the smokey air, so just pretend that I’m Vader wheezing for emphasis while saying "Pray I don’t stare intimidatingly further"

Granted, I confuse easily and never more now, but what time is 2430? I’d ask my Army vet big brother but he already thinks I’m stoopid. I don’t want to confirm it for him.

Too much screentime for work today, but meetings went well, and I’m feeling good. We’re starting a string of cool, lovely, fall days here – highs in the 60s, low humidity. I’m going to spend some time this evening reading, and letting my subconscious work on some RPG adventures I’m going to be running over the next few months.
1230 am. The easiest way to remember is take whatever the 24hour time is from 1300 up to 2400 and subtract 1200

And thank you for preserving my image with my brother, such as it is. I mean, I think he should give my some credit-after all, I always remember exactly, to the letter, what SNAFU and FUBAR stand for . Of course I get a lot more chance to use that knowledge in my everyday life.

I’m still confused myself. Thought military time maxed out at 2359 or possibly 2400.
there is (or there were when I was in) some debate on that. But that was so damn long ago, that I’ve forgotten most of it and the only real reason I use 24hr time in this thread(i only use it in this thread) is cause the stated purpose and nature of this topic lends itself to perusal by dopers from the other side of the planet from me. It is my understanding that 24hr time is more common in some places there. Plus, I’m practicing converting my local time to GMT and will start posting any times as Greenwich Mean Time soon, just for giggles (cuz I like Giggles, he’s a swell guy)

I worked night shift at a hospital years ago and we always used 0030 for 12:30 a.m. Midnight was 0000. I believe that’s pretty consistent in hospital systems. I don’t know about the military.
You mean “Hell On Wheels” right? I started it just now - based solely on your post - but seem to be watching a post-Confederate War series that starts with a man confessing atrocities under General Sherman’s orders and then being shot point-blank (murdered) and then … roll opening credits.
Not that I’m clutching my pearls, mind you, but … just wanna be sure I’m on the right series?
