Northern California Meets Southern California: The return

I’ve got a queen size air matress that I can throw in my trunk, too, in case anyone else needs or wants to use one. Plus, I have a handy dandy blower-upper thingie, too. Goes real fast with that thing! Vroom Vroom!

<feeling very much like chopped liver over here> Well, that’s just fine, see if I fly out again!
<sniff>

OK, instead of e-mailing everybody on the list, can I just ask if there are any rooms/beds still currently available? Hell, I’ll sleep in the tub if I must. I don’t snore too loud, and rarely wet the bed anymore.

Dude, you’re totally blowing the whole “Jack and Woody’s Strange SLO Adventure” theme. I figured I’d just hunt for a place to sleep once we got there.

But now that you mention it, I’m not beneath a little charity.

[sub]I got money - I’ll pay for my share of a room - I’m not a mooch (much)[/sub]

There’s still 31 feet of couch space at the Madonna - $20/night - first come first served.

Well, yeah, Jack, I’ll pay, too - didn’t mean to make it sound like I was asking for charity. I’d be willing to pay up to a shiny new nickel even.

Ooh, $20 is right in my price range! And I’m only gonna be there for one night - anybody mind if I claim the couch?

It’s my call - and you’ve just bought the rights to about 10 feet of it. BYO blankets.

Ooh. Can I buy about 7 feet worth (I’m kind of short)?

Yup, but the price is still the same for 7 feet.

slackergirl, I love you! Awww yeeahh - I gots me ten feet o’ couch. Eat that, Batty!

Well, the cellular gods have smiled upon me, but the work gods have not.

If anybody wants my spiffy new cell number for coordination or general harassment purposes, please email me at sonyabarry@yahoo.com.

My little work issue has altered slightly, but definitely firmed up my plans. I have to call in for a conference call at 3:00. Since I have no intention of sitting in traffic all night, this means I will be in SLO between 1 and 3. It also means that I will have to find a quiet room to listen to a bunch of engineers yap about SSL for an hour or two, while maintaining the illusion that I am sitting at home on a regular telecommute Friday. Hah.

I think the best thing would be for thinksnow, Kyla and I to get in way early in the afternoon and hook up with boli and pricciar, maybe for lunch or something, and then you guys can head off and do something while I sit at the hotel and talk shop.

The plus side is that there will definitely be no issues with checkin at the hotel, because I’ll be there early enough to handle it. And, we’ll have web access, because I’m gonna have to drag my laptop along.

Well, that helps my packing plans. I was wondering whether or not to take my laptop. Good deal.

slackergirl, I think I might be interested in getting the rest of the couch space. I could probably afford the $20/night.

Of course, this depends if I can change my plans for my ride back.

Hmm…mebbe i could arrive early? :). To get at SLO around 3 or so, i’d have to leave by 1. But, i could go it earlier if I get my hair cut earlier (i need it done ASAP).

Well, I’m cutting out of work and heading home to pack. Figure a two-three hour drive to Dayton (the only place ATA flies out of around here) and I’m on my way.

I’ll be on the left-coast and seeing some of y’all in about 12 hours.

Shayna, would you email me please? I need to get directions to your house. It would also be a good idea to exchange phone numbers in case we run into any problems during the trip.

I have dual-action air pump that probably isn’t as efficient as your handy dandy blower-upper thingie (it doesn’t go “Vroom! Vroom!”), but I’ll bring it along just in case. You never know when a dual-action air pump will come in handy, after all.

It’s confirmed! It took me a lot of work (and favors), but I have enough money to stay overnight (That is, with the $20/night dealio on the couch).

I’m looking forward to it, y’all.

(slackergirl, expect an e-mail sometime with details about what time I should get up there).

Btw, how are we all going to find each other? I know several of you on sight, but many I don’t.

You will know me by the crowd of luxuriant supermodels who constantly swirl about me, hoping to catch my eye.

Oh, and I’ll probably be wearing a University of Kentucky cap.
