Nothing to write home about - a very early MMP

Wow rigs! You need a big dose of chocolate, or maybe a drinky poo or two. I’m not advocating drunkenness, just enough to take the edge off.

I’m sorry to hear about all that.

Hopefully, you talked some sense into the geek squad person and they take make sure to take care of you.

Rigs if it’s any consolation, I regularly tell my puter where it can go, what it can do when it gets there and that it’s momma dresses it funny.

I’m home from church, all dressed in slouchy stuff and have Sunday lunch cooking. Roast beef, squash, green beans, new taters (N.O.T.), cornbread and I’m gonna make a peach cobbler.

It’s clouding up here, so I’m hoping for rain. Then I could nap all afternoon, cause rain makes me sleepy. Oh, and I’m working on tomorrow’s MMP. Stay tuned.

Several drinks, rigs. And I’m with you- computers are not and have never been designed to be user-friendly. They are dumb and mean and spiteful.
Mr. Lissar is presently grading for his tai chi instructor’s level. Please send good vibes. I think the testing is about four hours. Afterwards all the dojo-ites go out and get drunk. Black belt gradings are hyper stressful, and there are about ten people from their dojo grading up today.

Happy Sunday, MMP!

The graduation party was fun. Food was so-so, but the company was good and the weather was PERFECT.

Remember the cop friend of mine that was involved in that collision a few weeks back? Some bad guy trying to get away, and Vib=nce parked his squad in the way to block the road, and got rammed by the jerk and his Explorer?

Well, Vince was at the party. he looks good, I have pictures, but they’ll have to wait til later to get posted. He has a big cast on his arm, pins in his leg and some remnants of the stitches and contusions, but he’s the same old Vince, so it was VERY good to see him.

I’m watching Ecuador and England play right now, and really trying to get into soccer as a spectator sport, but it’s not getting through. When the Kid was a Kid-let, she played soccer and I refereed, and coached. I got involved with some guys that played pickup games a couple days a week, and I enjoyed playing, but cannot for the life of me stay interested in watching.

In a bit, we’re going to clean up and go to watch a few cows poop in a field for charity. The same group that I had the golf outing for last week - one of our fundraisers is called “Raise-A-Stink”. We sell about 3000 leases, good for a 2 ft square piece of land in a field. We have a surveyor set up and though the field isn’t marked, he can tell us which square is which through the magic of surveying and mathematics stuff. THEN, we have Farmer John let his heartily fed 3 cows out on the field, where they meander until the urge hits them. When the first one drops her stinky pile, the spot gets marked, Mr Surveyor goes to work and tells us which square got hit. We see who holds the lease for that spot, and they win $1000. The next two spots are good for $500, and $250. The surveyor donates his work, after we pay for printing and the cows, we clear a little over $10K.

So yeah, going to watch some cows crap, that’s my day…

Gah! England is on right now! Turning off stupid computer and going to watch tv…

Damn…PREVIEW!!!

His name is merely Vince, NOT Vib=nce…

“D7.”
“You sank my battlecow!”
rigs, I can definitely sympathize with computer problems. I think we all can. Even as one of the younger generation, and purportedly better with computers, I’ve had my share of #@&!%#&#! moments. I third or fourth the suggestion to pound back a nice stiff drink and wait for tech support to get back to you.

they sent me an email stating that they got mine. Big whoop. for this I need to use up the battery?

I wish I could drink–see page 5 for why I don’t bother. Off to emulate our esteemed leader of the free world and cut more shrub. I know how to live…

They’re predicting temps of upper 90s around here for tomorrow!

That is HOT! HOT! HOT! for these here parts.

Today will be lower to mid 90s. We’ll probably get the mid 90s as we’re farther away from the water. Good grief!

I broke down and colored my hair (I hate doing that!). There was just WAY too much grey in it.

I am one crispy critter. I’m going to do my best to hide from the sun today, but, we need to get out and cut the lawn and stuff. Mr. Taters is outside washing to boat as I type this. That means I get to clean the inside. I also need to go the store and get some slabs o’ meat for grilling tonight. The hubby wants steaks. I’m thinking that I’ll make pasta salad to go with them.

Other than that, I got bupkus…

MBG I am intrigued with this Poopin’ For Charity fundraiser idea. I sincerely wish to know more details. This just might be something people around here would get into. Says a lot for where I live don’t it?

Lunch was good. Dishes are loaded in the dishwasher and a nap has been had. ACBG is at his place doing laundry and may come back over later to jump in the pool and other stuff.

The MMP continues to be worked upon.

Cool, cowpie bingo! Or a variation thereon. Winning money from cows pooping is great. Standing around watching them, though? I have my doubts.

It’s been a very quiet weekend at the Tiger den. What with all the rain, we haven’t really felt like doing much of anything. Except going to talk to the nice salesman at the Honda dealership yesterday about test-driving a new Honda Fit, which is about the cutest damn automobile I’ve seen in many years, plus it gets about as good mileage as we can afford (since we can’t afford a hybrid right now). Except the Fits are going as soon as they arrive; the dealership has three coming in next week, and two are sold, sight unseen. So he’s going to call us to come test drive the third one. I’ve been wanting one ever since I realized it’s the closest Honda model sold in the US of A to my favorite Japanese car model ever, the Honda Today Humming. That’s right, in Japan people drive around with cards that say “Today Humming” on the back. In English.

But otherwise we’ve watched it rain. And puttered a bit. And not much else. Maybe we shoulda gone down and joined FCM and family to see the Smithsonian; I never get tired of it.

After 3 years in an open class DCI drum and bugle corps…you don’t want to know what my imagination ran through for the next 15 seconds after reading that.

The MMP is officially ready for tomorrow. Just thought I’d announce this. Now y’all can go to bed and rest easy knowing life will go on. Thank You.

So says the lush… :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m home from DC, achy feet and all. The kid was more interested in shopping than looking at the museum exhibits. I swear, I could have taken him to any mall anywhere, and he’d have been ecstatic! But he was properly impressed by seeing the Declaration of Independence - he even bought his own personal copy.

It rained on and off while we were there, and I’m sticky icky feeling - I need a shower. But for right now, I’m rehydrating - working on my second glass of ice water. I think tomorrow we’re going to go swimming in the Potomac.

It’s gonna be a looooooooong week.

Want me to lend you another dog, who can tag-team with yours and run the kid till he drops from exhaustion, FCM? My memory of boys that age is that’s the best way to deal with them. Send him out in the rain; he won’t melt. Heck, have him dig a hole and go swimming in it. The only thing better than being wet is wet and dirty, right?

FCM, just wait until he writes his own. Declaring his Independence from you.

Spats, he can declare that all he wants - he’s my nephew, not my kid.

Oh. Well, allow me to just say:

:smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:

hi all - dreary rainy day here today - so i watched TV, played with the kitty, ad slept - I had this weird dream I was at some sort of concert, and the artist started singing something I recognized, and I got up and did a dance number to it - right there in the auditorium. Then everyone was watching me and not the artist on stage so they asked me to leave. Then kitty jumped on me and woke me up, in time to see the Mets win again.

MBG - I’ve been trying to come up with original fund raising ideas, but I don’t think that’ll fly with the chorus girls. . .

FCM - one of these days, when my knees have been replaced and healed, I intend to go to the Smithsonian - mostly the Air and Space musuem, but any area that’s either space related or physics related with do me just fine.

In your e-mail as we speak. Or write.

Uh, now. It’s there now.
