But ultimately the authorities were stymied by the fact that at least by Western standards of law direct culpability could not be shown. What the authorities mostly ended up doing was denaturalizing and deporting any such advocates as happened to be immigrants. In a few infamous cases such as the Haymarket Affair or the Sacco and Vanzetti trial, the accused were tied- often by the flimsiest of threads- to specific acts.

Part of that tragedy is that these nutjobs willing to go to war for their One Sane Man are under the delusion that their guy gives a shit about them when he doesn’t. Next I’d like to say fuck the right-wing media bubble. They are essentially egging on their cultists with lies and propaganda, and trying to foment an actual civil war, so they can get more viewers and clicks. We know that they know better, because they were frantically texting Trumps lackeys on January 6th, trying to get Trump to call off the treasonous attack on the Capitol. They know better, and yet they still egg on their cultists, and call for violence against the FBI and the government in general. I recall discussion about N Korea if it somehow suddendly fell and what would the world do with all the brainwashed N Koreans, to help them adjust to reality. We have a similar problem right here at home.
