Probably not, unless it was sweet corn. At least in the Minnesota of my youth, field corn wasn’t harvested until very late (Sept/Oct IIRC), partially to let it dry in the field.
Probably was thinking (for very small values of ‘think’) a small pointed impact would break it (like the hammer/spike thing EMT types use to break auto glass).
