Under Law = Judaisim
Under Grace = Christianity
King David was under grace, not the law as he violated the law and was found blameless by God.
All scriptures testify about Jesus.

In an odd reversal of the usual pattern of GD threads being taken to the Pit, I’ve started a GD thread seeking clarification on the “other gods” thing: other gods in Christianity?
That certainly puts a different spin on things. So, it’s not a monotheistic religion. Is the a word for this kind of ‘lots of gods, but only worship this one’ religion?
Is there anywhere in the Judeo-Christian scriptures where anybody says that there is only one ‘real’ God, and that all the other ‘gods’ are imaginary. A quick office poll (warning, small sample size) indicates that everybody here thinks that Christianity teaches there is only one God. Are most people confused about a fundamental belief of their faith?
EDIT
I just saw the GD link.
Not that they are imaginary, but they are lesser gods.
That was my point.
You are claiming that Christianity teaches that there are ‘lesser gods’ and you and others have cited some scriptural backup, both New and Old Testament.
I was asking if there is any scriptural evidence to support the common view, that Christianity teaches the existence of only one god.
Whew.
Hey, let’s use the time machine and go interrogate Moses about this monotheism thing. I can just see it now:
(From time machine, over loudspeaker, amid destruction caused by objects attempting to occupy the same space on time machine’s arrival)
SKALD: Moses! are there other gods?
MOSES: Not if you say there aren’t!
SKALD: What? That’s not what I said! I mean are there other gods than God.
MOSES: Not if you say there aren’t ! - Once I get off this mountain I’m gonna put a hurt on that golden calf. Can I go now?
Is George Best one of these?
Moses’s teaching to the people:
[Jedi hand wave]There are no contradictions. You just think there are because you don’t understand what God really meant. You know this because God told you this. Move along.[/Jhw]
Yes, Said by the Lord God to men
This came over time, it is not something that was revealed at once, as such it’s something that you will have to seek out. So don’t move along, but you in kindergartner in your walk with Jesus will eventually learn algebra, but first you need to learn if Joe has a penny and Grace has a penny and Joe gives his penny to Grace, how many pennies does Grace have?
Interesting. But what to make of Michelle Bachman, who’s batshit ? Is she a subset of the lefties, or… ?
(as a side note, while I enjoy kanicbird’s utter nuttery and his uncanny ability to make me go WHAT THE FUCK ?! out loud, it’s still kinda tiring the way he turns every thread he’s in into his own. Like the fucking troll he is.)
What about Pete Best? Is he also bigger than Jesus?
The crack isn’t helping.
Yes: henotheism.
Missed the edit window, but I forgot to mention monolatry above, which is slightly different (and probably more relevant here).
Are think you are the Most High if you actually believe this shit.
Yes: henotheism.
I thought that was the belief that Henny Youngman was God?
What about Pete Best? Is he also bigger than Jesus?
No, Pete Best played with the Beatles for a while. “Bigger Than Jesus” was a hit album for the B-Sharps, and Best never played with them.
As honored as I would be, I really don’t encourage people to practice Hentortheism. The pressure of it all is just outrageous.
