I’ve seen this show before. Maybe twice.
Still, decent show. Hope it lasts longer the third go round.

It’s funny; the first thing I thought upon seeing the pilot was “this is the show Rookie Blue should have been” (instead of an overwrought soap). And I liked The Unusuals!
Police procedurals have a lot to live up to these days, with all the great predecessors, yet they never seem to go out of favor. This one has some promise - Adam Goldberg is always watchable, and hey, Leelee Sobieski (where’s she been, anyway?). I thought the pilot set up the characters very well.
Yeah, you can always watch Adam perhaps because he is in so many shows that get canceled. If I were a member of the cast and had seen him come on the set, I would have canceled the downpayment on that condo in Beverly Hills.
Southland is the best of this genre -started off with the rookies and they have taken the show to new levels.
I hope NYC22 does well, but history doesn’t bode well for this.
I only watched the first season of Southland, but enjoyed it very much, until NBC started screwing around with it and others to benefit the Jay Leno Experiment. NYC22 didn’t really give me the same vibe as a much better Southland. I think Rookie Blue came to mind because it seemed like all the cliche rookie stereotypes were covered here too, and Unusuals because of Goldberg and Kinney.
Rookie Blue is still on. It comes back for season three this Summer. My sister likes it, so she’ll be happy. I’ve never seen it.
That said, I did watch NYC 22 and I really enjoyed it. I’ve always like Leelee Sobieski and Adam Goldberg, so seeing them was pretty awesome. I’m in for at least a few more episodes.
Yes, Southland really does do this well. Will be interesting to see if Cooper’s new rookie partner is kept around next season or if they give him somebody else to work with.
Wasn’t sure if it was still around or not; I bailed after the first season. I liked Missy Peregrym even though she never really sold me on being a cop, but when they started pairing up the rookies and/or their training officers, it got too soapy for me.
Goldberg’s bad-luck charm status aside, I hope this one stays around for a while.
