O.J. Simpson Walked, So WHY Is Robert Blake In Solitary?

Can’t this poorguy afford a decent lawyer? Migawd, he has been held in solitary confinement! After all, he only killed one person-OJ offed two!
Any why is Blake spewing out his guts on TV? Is this a prelude to a new trial?
Seriously, I don’t see why any murderer with the income level he has, should be subjected to such inhumane conditions-where is Johhny Cochran when you need him?
Anybody know if OJ has paid any of the civil judgements against him? He still seems prosperous to me.

Your questions are just rhetoric. I think the answers are obvious. At least they are obvious for most reasonable people.

Glad to see you’re so helpful, Chanticleer. I really don’t see what was wrong with the OP’s question.

Hmm. On the one hand, we have an assertion that Blake is in solitary confinement.
On the other hand, whe have an assertion that he is spilling his guts to the media.

So which is happening? Solitary does not include visits from the press.

Perhaps Blake has been given a cell where he can be monitored for his ever-present suggestions of suicide?

(I do not follow celebrity trials, so I have no idea which assertion is correct, but there does seem to be a disconnect in the presentation of the OP.)

Robert Blake has been given a single cell at Los Angeles County Jail, not put in solitary confinement. More for his protection than anything else – celebrities are often victims of harassment and physical threats by other prisoners.

O. J. Simpson is able to live well because he is living off his multi-million dollar retirement trust, which is exempt from garnishment from the civil judgement against him.

My point is, Blake was reasonably wealthy…he should have been able to get a big-name lawyer to defend him. I am just surprised that he isn’t out on appeal-or maybe he is really broke.
Wouln’t it be good publicity for an up-and-coming defense lawyer to get Blake out?

Excuse me here, but isn’t Blake awaiting trial? Was he convicted and I missed it?

ralph124c, Robert Blake is still awaiting trial. If he had been convicted, he would be in prison, not L.A. County Jail. And no, people charged with first degree murder do not usually get released on bail before their trial.
