Ohio State plays
Akron
Toledo
Miami
Colorado
Mich. State next year.
I can see them getting a cutback to Akron and Toledo when they appeal the decision. Will this talk Pryor into jumping to the NFL?
This Navy v San Diego St. is a pretty good game.
Hmmm, it won’t let me change my pick in the Hawaii v Tulsa game. I want those 30 points back!
Hawaii turned the ball over 5 times in the first half and looked like they could overcome it. Then they gave up big play after big play dooming themselves. Now they can’t complete a damn pass.
I’m off to a rocky start. 3 of 9 so far, currently ranked 24th of 27. On the upside, I still have a maximum possible score of 574, so things can turn around…
Ugh. Iowa had a freshman filling in at RB, was without its best WR, endured the typical Stanzi INTs, gave up 512 yards of offense to Missouri, and still managed to win. I thought Missouri was a lock.
Given the disarray that Iowa’s program has been in, I also thought this game was a lock. I had that as my 34 point game. I’m now the only player in the pool with a sub-500 max score.
That freshman RB was great - I also thought Iowa would struggle but they had control for *most *of the game.
Good fun to watch and hopefully will be the beginning of a great bowl season!
I’m getting tired of watching my QBs throw pick after pick. If not for Mizzou’s 2 picks they would have won easily.
Picking the games heads-up is illustrating why I do not wager real money on football games.
Heads-up 4-11.
o:o LMAO
I don’t want play this game anymore. I going to take my toys and go home.
Some crazy games on tonight. I couldn’t believe some of the personal fouls that Tenn was getting away with but this game was crazy overall. I think I was only surprised because of the TD salute penalty in the Syracuse game that forced KState to convert from the 18 instead. All in all a great day of bowl games and there are better games coming up.
K-State totally got screwed. Is a salute really that different than a wave or a fist pump? ISTM that a salute is more of a recognition of the fans rather than drawing attention to oneself.
I got clobbered yesterday. Only correct picks were Maryland and OkST.
And now my second “lock” has fallen. How the hell does Nebraska clobber Washington by five TDs on the road and then do absolutely nothing at a neutral field?
I see one of us actually picked U-Dub…sure as hell wasn’t me (dropped 34 points on that game). I think we should just crown Knorf Has No Idea as the God of College Bowls.
Still really early for crowning asses, but man, college football at bowl time is really unpredictable. I don’t care how injured Martinez has been, how do they let UW do that to them? Seems bowl season is all about which coach can keep their team’s focused through all the travel and distraction.
And that celebration call is one of the most egregious I’ve ever seen in major televised sports, up there with World Cup officiating. Referees, thousands of people didn’t pay $50 and up and millions aren’t sitting in front of their televisions (o.k., hundreds of thousands.) to watch YOU. As the old saw goes, the best officials are those where I can’t remember who officiated the contest.
EDIT: FEI Update. Their confidence picks are at 279, with a 546 max, even after losing their highest ranked game last night with UW/Nebraska. Interesting projection system.
Looks like I’ve pulled myself back into this by the genius of betting against the overrated SEC. I did pick South Carolina which was a huge mistake. Luckily I picked against Florida and Mississippi St. today so I should be good to go.
If this trend keeps up for the SEC I wonder what that will do to next season’s rankings?
Mississippi St 52
Michigan 14
Alabama 49
Michigan State 7
Florida 37
Penn State 24
Would you like some fries with your crow?
Or not. We’ll see how the rest of it goes. I did pick Alabama though.
Well, I had a great day yesterday, went 6-6. Looks like being an SEC homer finally paid off!
12 of 28 so far, with a maximum possible score of 358. Yup…this is why I also do not usually bet on football picks. Was great to see the SEC romp yesterday though. Seems like I can remember whole seasons where Mississippi State didn’t score 52 points…
