Thanks, Oakminster, for setting this up.

War Eagle!
Apparently I’m OK at making picks (20 of 35) but horrible with assigning confidence points. I’m the lowest of those with at least 20 correct.
This was fun. Thanks for putting this together Oakminster.
Adding my thanks to Oakminster and making a small request. If you do this again next year, would you mind bumping this thread to let us know? Some of us don’t make it to the Game Room very often.
Thanks again and watch out for my Sooners next year. Barring injuries, they should be in the mix for the NC.
Unsurprisingly, with last night’s win the SEC pulled into the lead in the jsc1953 Bowl Scorecard. (If the SEC West was a separate conference, it would’ve been a cakewalk. The SEC East dragged them down this year).
The highlights:
SEC 5-5, 20.5 points
MWC 4-1, 14.5 points
Pac-10 2-2, 10 points
ACC 4-5, 8 points
Big 10 3-5, 5.5 points (despite the New Year’s Day Massacre, the Big 10 finishes in the middle of the pack)
Big 12 3-5, 3 points
Big East 4-2, 1.5 points (dead last). Low profile wins, high profile losses.
Whoo hoo, I won! So, what do I get?
Thanks Oak, just glad that I picked 19 games, and obviously whipped the random monkey that picked on 17.5 winners.
Question of the day: Which SEC Team is going to win the BCS game next year?
My pick is LSU. I think there is a very good reason why Les Miles did not take the Michigan job. LSU is loaded.
Tantalizing question. Gut reaction would be one from the West, but if just one of the East teams has a 2-game better season than this year, it could be whoever wins the East. The West ought to be somewhat weaker this next season, what with so many seniors and talented juniors leaving for the big time.
Wild guess: South Carolina!
South Carolina! Well that would drive the SEC haters BatSh*t Crazy if yet another SEC team wins the BCS title.
90% of why I said it! ![]()
LSU should be in the mix all year–especially if they beat Oregon in the season opener. LSU is young and very, very talented, especially on defense. QB Jefferson needs to mature, or the “coveted 6-foot-5, 230-pound junior college transfer quarterback Zach Mettenberger” can take over.
Pfft! They wouldn’t know what to do if a BCS game bit them in the ass!
I suspect Alabama was the best team in the country. I felt sorry for MSU when they drew them in a bowl.
