Obama to appear on Jimmy Fallon Show

I wonder what song the band will use to introduce him?

Hail to the Chief? Seems to be a popular choice for him.

But in the style of what vocalist? That’s the question. Fallon’s done the “Fresh Prince” theme in the style of Neil Young, and “Reading Rainbow” in the style of Jim Morrison, just for starters. I’m dying to know what he’ll do with “Hail to the Chief.”

Hasn’t “Hail to the Chief” gotten a bit old? Can’t they commission another one? Hell, I’ll do it for free. Just let me dig my marimba out of the closet…

Isn’t “Hail” the only appropriate intro for the Prez? And* only *the Prez?

I seem to recall some sort of controversy about this some time back.

They will probably play that obscure oldie-but-goodie “Hey: Is This Birth Certificate For Realz, Yo?”

The Kenyan National Anthem, of course! Followed by the Muslim call to prayer, and then The Internationale.

Shouldn’t this be in Cafe Society?

Also, What The … ?!?1, lay off the Obama threads. It’s annoying.

Yoink.

IMHO -> Cafe Society.

Someone at work wants Johnny Cash’s The Man Comes Around, but I don’t think the Revelations theme quite fits.

Why Can’t We Be Friends ~ War

Just trying to bring up the curve Missy.

I didn’t really want to bother the Cafe folks though.

Anybody remember the song they played for the lady Republican candidate?

The one they played for that lyin’-ass bitch? Nah, I can’t remember it…

Not “The Man in Black” huh?

I watched this, and was puzzled. We know Obama can actually sing quite well, and can mimic this kind of style effectively. So why did he play it so straight? He’s been very funny on other occasions, such as the Press Corps dinners, so why didn’t he loosen up here and get his own laughs while making his point, rather than letting Fallon and the band have the fun stuff?

It didn’t work for me. He came across as stiff and bland, which I know he is not.

Did he walk out to a song? What was it?

You aren’t.

Well, that’s where threads about TV shows go. Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the rules of the board.

I’m sure *you *do. Why don’t you just say it, instead of playing coy? It seems you think that comes across as clever. It doesn’t.

Huh. I thought it was pretty awesome. I liked the combination of Jimmy being Jimmy and Obama keeping a straight face.

For the record, the intro music was, indeed, “Hail to the Chief.”
