. . . Just suggestions, mind you, I’m not a Moderator. But we had half-a-dozen Gregory Peck threads, and now three on Hume Cronyn.
1) Make sure the thread title is explicit: “Katharine Hepburn Finally Died,” not “Whatshername’s kicked off.”
2) Show-biz people should probably go here in Cafe Society and not in MPSIMS.
3) Check to make sure no one else has started one already–they tend to fall off Page One pretty quickly, so check back.
Just a few tips, as I’ve done this myself–and as bad as I feel not to bring you a scoop, I feel even dumber when I realize I have started the 47th thread on Arlene Francis’ death . . .
All fine suggestions, I’m just thrilled that I beat Eve to posting a show biz obit thread (and I didn’t see any other Hume Cronyn threads when I started mine, honest).
Eve, about point one, what if the person who died is a member of Monty Python? Since they had a great many gags about death (and even held a rollickingly funny funeral for Graham Chapman), it seems to me that a thread announcing the passing of one of these folks (and let’s hope it’s not soon!) should have a humours title like He’s an Ex-Cleese! or something.
Hey. I said “** For Eve’s sake ** I hope Katharine Hepburn doesn’t die anytime soon.” You had the original post. And also one on David Brinkley. Someone else had Strom Thurman. We’re three for three this week.
Now how’s about wishing death on Ossam or Saddam (or, two people I cannot stand, Woody Allen and Jerry Seinfeld). Maybe we should get the ** Eve ** Celebrity Deathwish thread going.
