First, let’s get the linksouttathe way. Now, the debate. This woman claims to be married to the Berlin Wall. I had Jenny threadspot this one a while back, but thought a debate might be in order. I am one of the most open minded folks you’ll ever meet, but this strikes me as nuts. I have no problem with someone fucking an inanimate object if that’s what floats your boat, but claiming to have a reciprical emotional attachment with said object? I think that goes a little to far. How can in inanimate object have feelings?
Then I thought about it more, and came to the conclusion, so what? This woman seems to be a functioning member of society, so what’s the harm? If she wants to claim a wall loves her, so be it. The debate is what, if anything, should be done about people like this. Leave them alone? Mandatory therapy? Mood altering drugs? I mean it’s certainly weird, but it’s not hurting anyone. Is it?
Dave, be careful. The last time someone mentioned this woman (on Fathom, IIRC), she showed up on the board and told everyone off for being “insensitive” and “prejudiced.”
As far as the OP - I don’t care what she does as long as she doesn’t frighten the children.
Huge numbers of people are convinced that they have a reciprocal relationship with some dude who died almost 2000 years ago. A subset of them are also convinced that if you don’t have a recipcrocal relationship with this selfsame dead man, that you will suffer unending torment (but luckily only after you die, too). Because this dead man (and his dad–presumably his mother, too, but most don’t seem to care about her so much) loves you so much, you see.

It doesn’t matter one whit to me what people think, what they believe, whatever fetishes or kinks or oddities they hold inside their skulls. The only thing that matters is what they do. Do they cause harm to others around them? Then something should be done. Do they cause no harm? Then leave them alone.
