What I feel is going on is following sanctions rightfully given to **Octopus **, he’s flaunting every SDMB rule he knows about. Things like trolling every forum, trying to start board wars in ATMB, etc. to ramp up his efforts to push the boundaries. All in the effort to go out in a blaze of glory and/or seek martyrdom for a desperate grasp of self worth. The beautiful thing about this is that quite obviously the moderators are having none of it and allowing him to thrash impotently to the amusement of us all.
And kudos to Drunky Smurf for calling it early and correctly.

That twerp, o, has been trying to do that for ages. The odd thing is, once he picks a target–and there’s never any rhyme or reason for choosing that target–he never backs down, no matter how stupid it shows him to be. He’s the message board equivalent of trump.
That’s pure nonsense. I was pitted and piled on long before I said a cross word to anyone. I don’t even hold a grudge. What I don’t like is people lying about me. I don’t like people lying about my point of view. And I really don’t like how effective those tactics are at shaping perceptions.
It’s despicable how you and others who employ these tactics are. You are pretentious, dishonest, hypocrites. And in spite of all that, I still engage more civilly and with a greater deference to the rules than the trolls that pester me.
