Odd. More MPSIMS but since it’s AI related I’ll put it here.
Two of the most memorable auditions from the other night are both from contestants with arrest records that may bar them from going to Hollywood.
One was Akron. He’s the one with the cousin who sang a (really really really bad) version of Amazing Grace but had the great exit (“Don’t y’all make me have to come back in there!”). Akron was called 3 days before leaving for LA to be told he wouldn’t be leaving for LA in 3 days. It apparently has something to do with the fact he plead guilty to possession of pot a while back. (You still get in trouble for possession of marijuana? Quaint.)
The other’s Ashlyn, the reincarnated contestant with the odd facial expressions and the distinctive nasally voice who was originally rejected but then brought back and sent ahead after Simon convinced Paula and Randy that they really meant to say yes. Ashlyn got into trouble a while back for putting sugar into her ex-boyfriend’s tank. Apparently she’ll still be on the show though. (Hell, she’s not the first diva to have an ex with sugar in his tank- Liza Minnelli married at least a couple of them.)
